And we certainly don't have dozens of pages of anger directed at Kyle. I feel bad for him, as I said around my first post on him. I think he put himself in a bad situation, and ruined his life. But he also doesn't seem like he was a great dude video (whoever posting the video of him punching a girl). I don't think I judged him at all, and instead just gave my opinion of the facts and a self defense claim.
I am with you. Kyle was a dip shit for seeking out that situation, whether he worked in Kenosha or not, if he stayed home he wouldnt be in jail (juvenille detention actually right now, which is problematic too, but we can save that discussion) and those businesses would have been vandalized all the same. I posted the video of him and another dude beating up a girl....the video cuts right before a black dude beats his ass for doing so from what i have read...
I think what TDub is getting at, and not directed at you, but a lot of people here seem to mainly care about the Kenosha thing becuase it is seen as a opportunity to "stick it to trump". Obviously for 8 years we had the opposite...everything that was seen as a opportunity to "stick it to Obama" was totally freaked out about from the right.
The antifa shooter is what it is, much like kenosha is focused on right now i expect the right wing media will focus on it while making excuses for the Kyle kid. I hadnt even seen anything about it until now. But i think the same people who said "is getting hit with a skateboard reason to shoot someone" probably wouldnt say "is getting maced reason to shoot someone" in this situation.
I am not criticizing anyone for it, it is simply a prime example of the current divide we have in our country. It is sad.
And even here it plays out. This board is divided on clear lines at times....and even people who are not truly republicans occasionally get lashed out at and lumped in simply for feeling slightly different than the vocal left. Not everybody does it but some certainly do. It is interesting to witness and observe since this is largely anonymous although some people's identify is known.
I think 99%ish of people here want similar things. Maybe different ideas about how to get there and/or achieve those things, but similar ideals/morals. I wish we could all discuss things and be kinder to each other, not just here but also in real life, but it is just hard.
Hell, i have aunts/uncles that i will never really talk to again over things they have said since trump came into office and the social justice situation exploded. I just cant respect people who have said some of the things they have said or who are so blind by their ignorance that they believe the things they believe. I just can't do it. Not with my 2 little kids watching me and my every move. Character matters. I won't tolerate that kind of hatefulness in my real life.
Sorry for the rant. I just think things dont have to be quite as bad as they are if the reasonable people would just treat each other a little nicer. Obviously message boards are inherently ruder than real life though. In real life i dont see as much division as i do on the internet.
