Football Politics
Re: Football Politics
“Wait, since when has the United States of Merica been united?! BOOOOO!!!!!!”
Re: Football Politics
"Booing people locking arms in unity is trash.
I though don’t like mixing politics with sports—and while general human equality is a moral and ethics issue, it cannot reasonably be separated from politics in the world today.
I’m not interested in global warming during sports. Nor healthcare. Nor unfair distribution of wealth. Nor gun control. Nor abortion.
A stance in unity is powerful.
And opening week this is expected.
If it’s a season long thing, and is a talking point throughout the broadcast, as a reminder that people watching need to believe in a movement, then it’s opposite of what I believe sports should be.
And ( sad I have to do this ) as a disclaimer, this does not mean I don’t support equality, police reform, or am inherently racist."

Ugh....just delete this whole thread. Some of you need a beer
Re: Football Politics
I agree!
What we really need is a thread about unity, to set politics aside and try to get along.

Re: Football Politics
For real.
But alas, I don’t want to make it about the politics of not making about the politics.

Re: Football Politics
If only we could look to our leaders to take charge, and show a commitment to unity. To show that booing people locking arms in unity is trash. I think we all agree a stance in unity is powerful. But alas, leadership has not show a commitment to supporting equality, police reform, and fight racism.
Re: Football Politics
No no no you guys...this ain’t about protesting police brutality, he’s actually kneeling just to disrespect the flag!
Re: Football Politics
how is civil rights a political issue, and not a human rights issue?
or are human rights issues now political as well?

Re: Football Politics
You need to catch up. It’s political because dubs can’t be bothered to wait 30 seconds longer to watch his sports game. Also, he might hate equality. Jury still out on that one.TraditionKU wrote: ↑Fri Sep 11, 2020 4:26 pm how is civil rights a political issue, and not a human rights issue?
