Is one of you Sunny? ;)
No, she didn't say he was those things; she said that he has made those types of comments, which is undeniably true.
If you say those types of things then you are those things.
Not necessarily. A microphone and an audience who clamor for you to say the craziest shit possible for entertainment purposes leads people to say stupid shit that even they don't really feel. Whether that's the case for Rogan, I dont know.

I dont listen to Rogan any more for that reason, it just turned into too much of a meathead competition to see who could say the most outrageously stupid thing.

there is also a difference between one, or a few, inappropriate statements made in the moment, and a relatively long history and pattern of inappropriateness

I'd never even heard of Douglas before, but after listening to this, it's one of the best and most important interviews I've ever heard. He really clears up all the nonsense going on in the media. He mentions that even covid couldn't bring us all together because the media manipulated this "systemic racism" nonsense that less intelligent people would eat up.

Of course, this is not racist, but in 2020, it will be viewed as such.

If Wells Fargo really wanted a bigger pool of black talent, and also some good PR, announce scholarships for black communities.

Start by getting the government out of helping the banks. Let the banks fail -- no bailouts. Bring back real capitalism, which means the ability to fail.

I think, in some general sense, we might...agree?

I suppose I wasn’t for bailing out the banks either. If they privatize profits like they do, they shouldn’t get to socialize losses. But I also wasn’t for the potential consequences of what they said would happen if we didn’t? I dunno. There’s a lot of details in this issue.

I would’ve been even more for not letting the banks get so precariously big in the first place? But if your argument is based purely on the merits of capitalism, we may differ here.

The banks do a lot of their reckless actions because they know they have the bailouts. We've taken away their ability to fail and when that happens, they will take advantage. Some will argue that we should bail out the ordinary people who deposited their money. I can see that argument, but people should also do more research on where they are storing their money. Put it in a bank where they don't gamble as much.

Should we stop companies from becoming too big? Sometimes, yes. We're seeing this problem with Google and FB in that they are silencing anyone who goes against their narrative.

People should boycott Wells Fargo for ripping off their customers by incentivizing employees to create fake accounts for customers they didnt request and generating billions in fees.

Agreed. As someone who is in that industry, what they did to their customers is unforgivable. I would have closed all of my accounts out with them immediately.

I don't think anyone here would try to make a case that Wells Fargo has been a "good" bank. They've done countless terrible things in the name of greed. However, I don't really see these terrible things as motivated by racism. It appears they were taking advantage of the poorer people (which is a really shitty thing to do). If it makes you feel better, they've lost over 50% of their stock value since late 2019. They were doing all those buybacks and are now paying the price.
