Trump is a giant douche but I already knew that.
Biden is probably too old and too fragile to be President for the next 4 years but I already knew that.
Neither guy did or said anything to convince me they would be a good President from January or 2021 to January of 2025. That was an hour and half of nothing much more than noise.
The debate was the shit show I expected it to be and it sucks to be an American in 2020 - for many reasons - but the primary one tonight is the fact that baring any unforeseen circumstances - one of the two assclowns is going to be elected our President for the next 4 years.
Fuck Donald Trump but I sure as heck don't love the thought of Joe Biden being my President either.

Neither gained voters imo.
Only one needed to.

Telling the Proud Boys to stand by is maybe the most awful thing he has said. And given what he's said in the past, that makes it one of the most awful things any President has ever said.

Do you think that a single undecided female watched this blustery, bullying liar and came away deciding to vote for Trump?

Why did only Trump need to gain votes tonight? You really think Biden has this election in the bag? I sure don't.
To answer your question - Unfortunately yes.
That's based on the fact that just under 63 million people voted for him in 2106 and we live in a country full of assholes and morons. That being true, why wouldn't at least some women come away from tonight deciding to vote for Trump?

No, it is not "in the bag" but there's not a lot of rational evidence at this time for me to not consider Biden to not currently be in the lead.

Biden would like to gain more votes. Obviously.

Trump HAS to gain more votes or he is done. Did that look like a performance that is going to gain him votes?!? I feel like I have been sniffing glue for an hour and a half after watching that. That was gross. That was Trump just showing how mad he is that he's losing. He is genuinely offended that his fake record isn't winning more praise. He's like OJ Simpson; to be truly committed to your lie, you must believe it is the truth.

Maybe, but it was good that he mentioned Antifa several times, the mirror image of the Proud Boys. Trump really missed a lot of golden opportunities tonight to get on the left for the violence and protests.

So fucking gross. He's the 12 year old entitled, bratty son of a wealthy racist scum who has simply grown older and nastier. He doesn't have any more knowledge now than he did when he was 12. All he has gained is a deeper bag of tricks and a fleet of moral-free lawyers and accountants.

That clown is our fucking President? Embarrassing.

The difference tome is that I am 100% confident that Biden will hire accomplished qualified people at a much greater rate to fill important roles and will listen to their opinions.

Trump only hires people who will listen to and agree with his opinion.

On September 30th 2016 I was foolish enough to believe Hillary was going to beat Trump. Fairly easily. Based on "rational evidence".

I hope you are right about Trump but I never will underestimate the ability of Americans to fuck things up. Yet again I will say, the BIG problem is Trump is running against a Turd Sandwich. Anyone who doesn't have any misgivings about Biden is a fool.

To answer your question, for me - NO. I would hope no one would come away from last night saying - "Hey, Trump was awesome. He gets my previously undecided vote".
Yet, I realize we live in a fucked up country with a lot of fucked up people who do fucked up things.

I agree with you 100% that last night was "gross". It made me dislike Trump even more. Problem is I feel MANY Americans will come away from last night thinking Trump "won" the debate. Let's hope none of those people were undecided nor were previously going to vote for Biden before the debate.

I fully admit that was the main reason why I voted for Obama in 08. I strongly felt he was going to surround himself with mostly good, smart, competent, and experienced, people.

My mother is someone who basically thought the world would end if Trump was elected in 2016.
I explained to her as long as we have a system of checks and balances, we don't have a majority Republican House AND Senate, and he has people advising him who are/were not completely demented, we should be ok. She may not be happy but she's survived his Presidency. So far.
Most Americans have survived under Trump and are not any worse off in terms of the things that are important to them. My mother included in that.
The biggest problem/issue with Trump is he is a morally bankrupt incompetent/clueless asshole.
Some (way too many) people simply don't care who and what he is. Anyone but a "Libtard".

Anyone with a brain who watched that debacle last night knows Trump didn’t win a damn thing. This lesser of two evils is bullshit man.

There is no comparison. This fucking idiot wouldn’t denounce white supremacy.

End of discussion.

Biden was prepared and tried to remain calm. When things got crazy and out of control, he did his dismissive smile, shook his head and chuckled while Trump did his rambling.

Trump seemed irritated and perturbed all night. When things went away from him, he went to his usual talking points that he knew he could rile up his base with.

Trump won the election because of all the shots he hit on HRC 4 years ago. He didn't get one solid blow on Biden all night. Not one where everyone kind of said, DAMN. He looked and talked like a guy who is grasping at anything he could. In fact, he got the worse end of the entire night when he simply could not denounce white supremacy.

On the flip side, that was Biden's best performance of the debate season (both in primary and election) and he had a moment or two where he stumbled but he spoke directly to the cameras and therefore the people. Trump seemed more focused on debating Chris Wallace and interrupting Biden.

Nobody really "won" but Biden, in my eyes, had the far better performance, which honestly was probably not expected by many. Nobody probably flipped from Trump to Biden or from Biden to Trump, but I think Biden had more success with the undecided voter.
