who ya got?
Re: who ya got?
lol, trump gonna fire the debate commission
Re: who ya got?
All a pretense for him to back out of the remaining debates, and hold rallies instead.
Re: who ya got?
If the Harris/Pence debate on October 7th goes as bad as many are bracing for, I wouldn't be surprised if Trump starts real chatter about backing out of additional debates. He did himself zero favors and obviously does not want to behave the way his handlers are telling him he needs to behave.

I'm just trying to prepare you all for what's most likely coming. Don't say I didn't warn ya. I just don't see Biden winning.

Yup, lobster on record saying Biden won’t win this winter, or sooner!

To be fair, Lobster’s an idiot
Re: who ya got?
How does it not? Bezos' wealth is in stock, so if capital gains become taxed as regular income, eventually he'll have to pay it.PhDhawk wrote: ↑Thu Oct 01, 2020 12:05 pm Biden's plan still doesn't target the super wealthy. Jeff Bezos' taxable income is something like $80,000 and he's the wealthiest guy on the planet.
I'm fine with having another tax bracket that starts at >$400,000 for individual income, but let's not pretend like this is a tax increase on the super-wealthy, it's a tax increase on the kinda rich. And, as we've talked about, there's a HUGE difference.
Re: who ya got?
Sorry, should have said this is not a tax on wealth. I was pointing out the huge difference between this and Warren's proposal to tax wealth.Mjl wrote: ↑Thu Oct 01, 2020 3:16 pmHow does it not? Bezos' net worth is approaching like $200 billion or whatever, and that amount of his wealth, is not targeted. All that would be taxed is the money his money earns, not his current money directly.
I mean, you can raise the income tax of people making $400,000 by 3% or you could tax Bezos' wealth at 3%. But you'd need 500,000 people making $400,000/year to equal one Bezos.
I think this is the fundamental issue with these discussions in the US, is that so much of it is focused on income. I don't think the wealth disparity has much to do with differences in income. I mean, for the richest people income isn't usually a source of their wealth.
I only came to kick some ass...

Re: who ya got?
The problem is, a lot of those people who make $400,000-a million are going to have to let go of those extra people they hired. Those people with 40-60K jobs are going to be on the chopping block. This is just not the time to be implementing any kind of tax increases. People are already leaving California because of this (Joe Rogan recently moved to Austin Texas).

Yeah, but RCP probably isn't dealing with the Phoenix Kiss FM online poll. How can you trust the RCP average?TraditionKU wrote: ↑Wed Sep 30, 2020 3:57 pm according to polls at RealClearPolitics and 538, Biden came out ahead after last night

So what if people relocate to more advantageous locations? It raises the tax bases of new cities while allowing prices to reset a bit where they came from. The ebb and flow of people moving for more opportunities has been happening since before we were a country.
Re: who ya got?
If the roles were reversed, I wonder if Trump would offer such sentiments...
Re: who ya got?
Trump has shown not a shred of compassion for anyone his whole evil life. Many Americans believe he is not actually sick because of the constant lying and manipulation of the media. Hard to blame them.
