Lobs failed to understand that his boy was manipulated to play a part in a political calculation. The right wing would prefer murdered martyrs, but can shift on the fly to martyr murderers.
George Floyd and the Ensuing Protests

Good.
Now let's hope he actually gets punished accordingly.
Re: George Floyd and the Ensuing Protests
Words matter. Malaprop “objectionably” reasonable. Meant “objectively“. It was used as an actual quote several times. In context used, would qualify it objectionable but reasonable.

"As Secretary, I am concerned about any form of violent extremism," wrote acting Homeland Security Secretary Chad Wolf. "However, I am particularly concerned about white supremacist violent extremists who have been exceptionally lethal in their abhorrent, targeted attacks in recent years."

This sort of thing led ronnie raygun go enact gun control in California.
Defense. Rebounds.

Do I need to say it again? This country is headed for a MAJOR "civil war". A lot sooner than I had originally expected.IllinoisJayhawk wrote: ↑Tue Oct 06, 2020 7:59 pm https://mobile.reuters.com/news/picture ... USRTX804C5
Shit is headed in a bad direction...
10/07/20 - My biggest regret in life - is not being a father.
10/07/20 - My biggest relief in life - is that I don't have to worry about my child's (or grandchild's) future.
Re: George Floyd and the Ensuing Protests
Sadly i think you are right. On both of your statements. I have the same anxieties.Grandma wrote: ↑Wed Oct 07, 2020 8:17 amDo I need to say it again? This country is headed for a MAJOR "civil war". If a race war breaks out it isn't going to matter if you are republican or democrat to many of the people who become violent.
Re: George Floyd and the Ensuing Protests
No, we arent. There are not nearly enough people ready for armed conflict for any of this to rise to the level of a major civil war. There just aren't. The government would have to get involved on one side of it to escalate to a real civil war.Grandma wrote: ↑Wed Oct 07, 2020 8:17 amDo I need to say it again? Hopefully we remove the Asshole In Chief from office before he can dump 10,000 gallons of jet fuel on the situation by rolling the military into neighborhood and opening fire on people.
Pissed off idiots with guns isn't enough to push this into civil war territory.

i like how as soon as it’s black militias with guns, we’re all of a sudden at a tipping point
why wasn’t this the case when white militias were overrunning state capitols?

Re: George Floyd and the Ensuing Protests
Simple answer to a complicated question is many if not most white people are scared shitless of black people - with guns - who may be angry - and are ready to and prepared to "fight back". As they probably should be. Just as Black people should probably be scared shitless of white people - with guns - who may be angry - and are ready to and prepared to "fight back".
Here is a question we should ask ourselves. With the right leadership, if they were so inclined, could Black OR White people "take over" the country (AND the government?) - and do with it as they please? At least temporarily?
I'm not 100% convinced they couldn't.

Re: George Floyd and the Ensuing Protests
For me personally it was. 1 leads to the other. Doesn't matter which comes first tbh. You can see where it can quickly lead.TraditionKU wrote: ↑Wed Oct 07, 2020 9:29 am i like how as soon as it’s black militias with guns, we’re all of a sudden at a tipping point

But i get your point. White people are more bothered by/concerned with/ scared of black militias because they are the "enemy"...same reason black people are more bothered/concerned with white militias.
Re: George Floyd and the Ensuing Protests
Portland police have failed to identify, document, review or manage officer use of force during protests that have gripped the city since late May, an outside consultant has found.
Because of the significant gaps in use of force reporting and training, the Police Bureau is no longer in “substantial compliance” with mandated reforms under the city’s settlement agreement with the U.S. Department of Justice, Rosenbaum concluded.

How often are “safety concerns” allowing interstate travel afforded to suspects awaiting trial for murder?

Re: George Floyd and the Ensuing Protests
I’ll bet you we do not have a race riot or a civil war or whatever the internet deviants and malcontents are predicting.
Re: George Floyd and the Ensuing Protests
"Internet deviants and malcontents". Do those terms apply to you too? They should.
Some people would rightfully argue that we have already had race riots and/or civil wars in the recent past. Are you that clueless or cut off from society that you are unaware of what is going on in this country right now?
As far as a "cilvil war", do you understand what the definition of a "civil war" is?
Heck, I wouldn't be shocked if a MAJOR one started in your state. That's assuming you live in Michigan.
