Biden regularly refers to Obama as President Obama. And they are close friends.
Re: who ya got?
Exactly why i hate the media....the "very fine people on both sides" thing always gives me an eye roll.
Biden has some cringeworthy sound bites for sure....but silly video overall, even though I know part of the point is to be funny.

Re: who ya got?
This is correct. The president themselves dictate how they are to be addressed. Some are formal, and want only Mr. XXXX, President XXXX, or in Obama's case, liked "POTUS" (not said out loud, but actually Poh-Dus). Some want to be less formal, and will allow you to address them by first name.NewtonHawk11 wrote: ↑Thu Oct 08, 2020 11:09 amThat’s what Trump wants. Just like some bosses want to be Mr. XXX or Mrs. XXX, while other insist you call them by their first names. I would hate my employees to call me by Mr. XXX, and prefer my first name when talking to them. But likewise, I always call people Mrs. XXX until she tells me to call her by her first name.
Re: who ya got?
it’s a Harris thingIllinoisJayhawk wrote: ↑Thu Oct 08, 2020 11:08 am Meh, that is a respect thing. Harris also refused to refer to him as President Trump iirc, she just called/calls him Donald Trump.
A few months ago Harris was ripping Biden apart. So i don't buy that they are super close friends all of a sudden. He knew he had to pick a black woman as his running mate and she was about the most high profile person that made sense.
she told the moderator to just call her Kamala
i think it says a ton about her character that she prefers first names, and doesn’t try to distinguish herself by “forcing” people to use titles
1) it shows she is secure with herself, and 2) that she’s just a normal, approachable person
her title doesn’t make her “better” than anyone

I may have missed it the past couple days, but did we discuss how the New England journal of medicine came out against a candidate for the first time in its bajillion year history?

Jed Bartlett and Leo mcgary were the best of friends. Leo never referred to Jed as anything other than mr president or president Bartlett when in public or in the whitehouse.

Re: who ya got?
i saw that last night
this presidency has definitely broken the mould on a number of fronts...most of which aren’t a good thing
Re: who ya got?
Debate-gate. If I were Biden, I show up in Miami next Thursday, do my thing, then if Trump meets COVID protocol, meet in person for third debate. No reason for him to bend to Trump here.

Re: who ya got?
If they can't do it in person, just cancel it. No one wants a debate on Zoom.

Re: who ya got?
...with the only reason being, Zoom calls can be muted, thus thwarting Trump’s only debate strategy of, “keep interrupting...”

Here's my thing. It's one thing to say the President and I have said this, or the President's belief is...
But he says President Trump so much that it's quite strange. It's clear he's trying to please one person and one person only.

Excuse me, that’s not the only reason.
There’s also the issue of not wanting to be within physical proximity of a covid patient.

Re: who ya got?
Not going to lie, I had that thought too. The ability to mute him by moderators would be quite hilarious. He might quit if he does have the debate virtually and they keep muting him. He would throw a fit and likely completely leave and the people would see the real man that sends out rage tweets in his underwear while eating like shit from his separate bedroom and separate floor than what the rest of his family is on.

Re: who ya got?
Trump needs these debates far more than Biden. Trump needs to figure it out because he screwed up, got infected, all during election time. He should now live with those consequences.
