who ya got?
Re: who ya got?
@Fish, to answer your question, I don't think it's just a problem with Trump. Would Harris or Biden ever admit that they were wrong about encouraging the riots? Trump is definitely wrong on a lot of things, and you're not going to get me to try to defend him. However, between choosing between a severe recession or a severe depression, I would rather choose the option that will not raise taxes.

Re: who ya got?
I mean, you're not that wrong. I think the biggest problem and the reason why Fish brought it up is that Trump always thinks his ideas are the "biggest, best, huge, etc" while others seem to have a humble side to them when something doesn't pan out the way that it should. I don't have any specific examples of Biden or Harris on this, but it seems like a humane thing to do and it seems like we haven't heard Trump say "Ya know what, that was not a great idea, but we worked it out a different way after taking advice of my advisors" It's always I came up with the best idea, I did the biggest thing that's ever been done, I did the most beautiful whatever...Walrus wrote: ↑Fri Oct 09, 2020 2:37 pm @Fish, to answer your question, I don't think it's just a problem with Trump. Feel free to provide an example of Harris or Biden encouraging the riots.Walrus wrote: ↑Fri Oct 09, 2020 2:37 pm @Fish, to answer your question, I don't think it's just a problem with Trump. Part of the GOP game plan. Lump protests and riots into one. You can have a protest, some people get out of control and make it riot. But they start off as peaceful protests.

Some also just start out as riots/looting.

they were talking about protests, not riots or violence
...(here comes the yeah but).....trump also wasn't talking about white supremacists being "very fine people" in Charlottesville and that hasn't stopped anyone on the left from doing exactly what lobster did with Harris' comments about protestors.

I'm legitimately curious as to who he was talking about.. I don't want to research. I'm an hour away from vacation and have no motivation to do anything.IllinoisJayhawk wrote: ↑Fri Oct 09, 2020 3:18 pmI agree with you 100%TraditionKU wrote: ↑Fri Oct 09, 2020 3:02 pmjust fucking stop

Re: who ya got?
those two instances aren’t even in the same solar system
Harris and Colbert were talking explicitly about PROTESTERS
trump was given the opportunity (as had been the case numerous times) to condemn the white supremacists in Charlottesville...he chose, instead, to say what he did. they aren’t talking about people that wanted to keep the statues. he was questioned specifically about the white supremacists
if you can’t see the difference between the situations, then i can’t help you

The "very fine people" who were only there protesting the removal of a Confederate monument, which was exactly zero people.NewtonHawk11 wrote: ↑Fri Oct 09, 2020 3:25 pmI'm legitimately curious as to who he was talking about.. i think were definitely people there that didn’t want to see the statues come down, and i’m sure some of them were/are indeed “fine” people. but those people were the minority, and weren’t the subject of the questioning that led to trump’s statement
i don’t with those that think the statues should stay - i think they should be removed and put in a museum
Re: who ya got?
and yet again, lobster/walrus gets called out on his bullshit posts and runs away
Re: who ya got?
Lobster posted the full video yesterday....he basically says there were people who were there peacefully protestoring the removal of the monuments who were not with the white supremacists....now, how many were there? No idea. It was still an incredibly stupid thing to say and wildly tone deaf after someone had been killed. Were the majority of the people there protesting either for or against the removal peaceful? Again, hard to say. There were certainly enough white supremacists there that ANYTHING he said needed to be carefully worded and well thoughtout, which is simply something he is too stupid to do....below is the full video.NewtonHawk11 wrote: ↑Fri Oct 09, 2020 3:25 pmI'm legitimately curious as to who he was talking about..
