I have a co-worker who lives in Indiana. Today her kids are back in their school building for the first time since March.
I have no idea why today (October 20) was the day they decided it's "safe" for the kids to go back to school.
Gee, let's wait until rates RISE before we send our kids back to school.
I just don't get it.

Agreed. And exactly why mine is home even though they went back to hybrid yesterday. It is worse now than when it was shutdown in the first place. Doesn't make much sense.
My school district has a population of 20,000. Not sure of exact school age population numbers. But 6 weeks in there have been 2 positive K-4 cases. 1 positive 5-8 case and 1 positive 9-12 case. There have been about 30 who have had to quarantine due to exposure but there has not been a transmission from one school aged kid to another school age kid.
Which in itself is a win honestly. Something is working and the kids are doing their part as well to keep it that way.
My kids did go hybrid for this week as positive percentage of cases in the county did go above 10%, but have since dropped and they dropped again so they will be back in school next week.
Last year, I was all for remote learning as it was so unknown. This year, I have been a fan of in school or hybrid learning methods. I do think that precautions do work and the kids have been able to enjoy some normalcy.
