You have said yourself that antifa is more of an ideology than a group....so i am curious how you become a member of something that isn't an organization?
Not speaking for Tradition, but antifa is a label applied by the right with a negative connotation. It's simple, antifa is against fascism. I would hope that everyone on this board would exhibit some level of anti fascism.
Yes, i think most of us are against facism... but some of the ways that at least a portion of "antifa" uses to "fight facism" i do not agree with...and at least some of those methods they use were also used by the actual historical facists.

And fwiw facism doesn't exist in our country. Not even close. So they aren't fighting facism imo. They are just fighting against those they view as their political opposition (republicans).

I also would rather there be zero violence but I am not the primary target of the actions that ANTIFA is fighting against. Maybe I would feel differently if I was and had been for generations. I might find myself being incredibly frustrated with the lack of results from non-violent protests and complaints. I might feel differently about what level of violence is necessary to force the next set of meaningful changes.

Yes, there are some that are just along for the chance at getting away with criminal behavior. But I honestly feel that there are some people who join a police force for the exact same reason. Our system is currently designed to allow some police officers to get away with that violence. The same cannot be said of the other side. That's the core of the problem that has led us to this point.

"Antifa" is mostly white people. Privileged white people. They haven't been oppressed for generations. They are mostly mad about Trump and nothing else.

I am fully down with the BLM movement. Not the looting/rioters, but i don't associate 99% of those people with the BLM movement. I have close friends involved in the grassroots side of it doing actual work. My close friends mother owns a business where she trains school districts teachers on racial bias and how to more effectively and impactfully teach black youth.

I am also against facism, but it doesn't exist in our country. I do not really support "antifa". I think they use their cause to be violent and destructive. Either to property or towards law enforcement.

I would be curious to see how the true BLM leaders feel about antifa and how they have sort of hijacked part of the cause for their own purposes.

If you feel so confident that Trump is going to win, I'll make you a bet.

If Trump wins, I will not post a single post on the Politics or Off-Topic boards of this site from Thursday, November 5th until Inauguration Day 2021.

If Biden wins, you will not post a single post on the Politics or Off-Topic boards of this site from Thursday, November 5th until Inauguration Day 2021.

Deal?
Sure, if that's what you want. But you know what? This place is going to become pretty boring if you are not posting here anymore. I disagree with you on a lot, but at least you do write some kind of sentence. I can't say the same of some others who have taken a break. You see, I don't want people people to leave this site, just so long as they make some kind of attempt to talk sense. Too many posters on here just spew their emotional outbursts. That doesn't add any kind of value here.

I'll ask one small exception: If Biden wins, I will only post occasionally in the Housing Crash thread. If Biden wins, I promise not to post any political responses in ANY thread until Inauguration Day, 2021. I would just caution you that I think it's highly unlikely that Trump will lose. I'm just trying to prepare everyone for this because not everyone understands what is actually going on right now.
Deal.

It's a win-win for me. If Biden wins, I'll enjoy the lack of the content I suspect you would be providing and if he loses then I'll enjoy having a good reason to keep myself from responding to the content I suspect you would be providing.

And let's be honest, most of the rest of this place gets a win-win in a guaranteed break from one of us.

Eh, what the heck is this?

"Iran and Russia have obtained U.S. voters’ information and Iran has already used the information to “intimidate” voters, Director of National Intelligence John Ratcliffe said Wednesday night.

He also said Iranian operatives have released a video wrongly suggesting some individuals “could cast fraudulent ballots even from overseas.”"

Am I wrong to question this Ratcliffe guy? He has made some peculiar decisions that have come out of nowhere these last two weeks.

Assuming that this information is accurate. Trump says we should always question the motives of our national intelligence agencies.

Shocking that you question whether it is accurate. 🙄

It is like clockwork what you believe immediately and what you are extremely skeptical of.

More antifa info for twocoach even though i know he won't read it and would never admit to being wrong anyway so not sure why i bother...

https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.trtwor ... -36922/amp

In the years since US President Donald Trump's election in 2016, a previously almost dormant far-left, anti-fascist group has re-emerged — ostensibly in response to a rise in racism and white supremacy.

Antifa is an unstructured, decentralised, leaderless group of far-left anti-fascist activists. The movement's name is a shortened version of the term “anti-fascist.”

The movement first started in Nazi Germany to fight European fascism before the Second World War and reached the US in the 1970s against Neo-Nazism and alt-right groups.

The movement consists of various groups without any central leadership, the earliest formalised group with this name dates to 2007 in the US. It was mostly inactive until the election of Donald Trump

Guess who John Ratcliffe is and who he is for.
My guess is that if William Barr doesn't prosecute Biden but these back to back statements by Ratcliffe help pull out a reelection for Trump that Trump replaces Barr with Ratcliffe.

Seriously, why would Iran and Russia actually want Biden? They wouldn't. It just helps Trump more for them to get caught trying to help Biden than it does to get away with helping Trump. Then he's the guy that caught Russia instead of the guy getting helped by Russia.

My assumption is we'll see 2-3 more of these types of things in the next 2 weeks.
