Election Results Game Thread
Re: Election Results Game Thread
If you ask the progressive candidates its about the system being broken
Just Ledoux it
Re: Election Results Game Thread
Blame nervous Dems in the Super Tuesday primary states for giving us Biden, not "Dems" in general. They were worried that Klobuchar or Buttigieg weren't sure enough wins vs. Trump and are being proven wrong. They would have both been better choices.TDub wrote: ↑Wed Nov 04, 2020 8:47 am If dems run Pete or Amy this woulda been a landslide. Instead they ran the most unlikable and unrelatable candidate from the primaries again. Primaries rigged. Dems say system is broken and then run the guy with 40 years building the system. Odd. Anyway, trumps such a poor option that it might work anyway, but legal battle looming.

Progressives like TR move the country where it should go. Kicking and screaming brought to you by the rw media.
Re: Election Results Game Thread
I am not going to play this silly game. The court isn't going to throw out legit votes. I expect the courts will take any contesting of votes EXTREMELY seriously. If states have rules and rules were broken then that is the ONLY way i think any ballots wouldn't be counted. There is not some grand conspiracy to keep trump in office.ousdahl wrote: ↑Wed Nov 04, 2020 8:58 amwhat other legal battle would they have?IllinoisJayhawk wrote: ↑Wed Nov 04, 2020 8:56 amThey won't throw out legit votes. Just give the fear mongering a break.
It is no different than if/when Biden takes PA votes to court over not counting the "skinny ballots" that are not inside the privacy/security envelope (which they never count apparently).
When margins are razor thin both sides should make sure everything is legit....and most likely everything is legit. There has never been evidence of widespread fraud. I don't expect this time to be any different.
Very few are going to support Trump trying to claim that this was a stolen election. Some of his biggest supporters have already slammed him repeatedly this morning. He will not win this election unjustly. He may win legitimately or he may lose legitimately. But nobody is going to support him trying to steal it imo.

The "system" can mean so many different things to so many different people.TDub wrote: ↑Wed Nov 04, 2020 9:08 amThe whole progressive movement is based on the system being broken. If trump won would the system be broken?Grandma wrote: ↑Wed Nov 04, 2020 9:04 amOK Lobster Jr.TDub wrote: ↑Wed Nov 04, 2020 8:47 am If dems run Pete or Amy this woulda been a landslide. a) YOU have no idea what would have happened if the dems ran Pete or Amy. Well, obviously you have an idea but that's really all you have.
b) PLENTY of DEMS like and relate to Joe. At least 69 million plus people like and relate to him - more than they do Trump. Or perhaps some/many/most don't but they just prefer him to be their President.
c) Primaries rigged? You might be on to something but I think YOU would have a difficult time proving it. Is the Presidential election rigged to? I admit I can't say for sure that it's not. I would think if it was, the incumbent's people would have an easier time rigging it than the challenger. Then again, what foreign influence might go in to rigging it too? Hmmm.
d) Not too sure what Dems say, "the system is broken". What "system" are YOU referring to? The one we have had under Trump or the one before it?
e) I agree 100% that Trump is/was a "poor option" yet 67 million plus preferred the option.
f) I have to ASSUME you are right about a legal battle looming. The question is what will be decided and then what will be the reaction. Even though a "legal battle" might be justified and the best way to resolve the results, I think more people will "act out" against the "legal battle" then there would be if there wasn't a "legal battle".
Are people rioting because the system isnt broken? 69 million people dont relate to Joe. 69 million people hate trump. This again is an election of least worst option. We need better options. We need a 3rd party.
There are so many god damn "movements" and "isms" these days. I admit I can't keep track of them all.
The only system and movement that really matters to me is my digestive system and the bowel movement.
I agree with you 100% that this was an election of worst options. Just as I felt about 2016 but I felt one was a much better (and much worse) option in 2016. In 2020, one was only a slightly better option.
Yes, WE need better options.
So,,,,, 3rd party? Like.....?
Then what "BETTER" option do we get?
Re: Election Results Game Thread
If the Supreme Court overrules the election results, and the new justice is a deciding factor, i'd be joining the 'libs/dems' in marching in Washington.

And what do you think caused those nervous feelings?twocoach wrote: ↑Wed Nov 04, 2020 9:14 amBlame nervous Dems in the Super Tuesday primary states for giving us Biden, not "Dems" in general. The left wing media telling them that was the case when it obviously wasn't looking back and biased pollsters that either suck at their job (again) or sucked at their job on purpose to influence the results for what the "Dem machine" wanted.
They screwed Bernie out of the nomination in 2016. And they screwed the people out of a much better ticket than Biden/Harris in 2020.
This is obviously a small sample size but NOBODY on this site would have chosen a Biden/Harris ticket. That says something.
Re: Election Results Game Thread
Thanks, fixed it.
Sorry your boy trumpy is doing well thins morning. Better fire up the ol’ pick up and go harass some minorities to blow off some steam. May some good ol’ gay bashing?
Re: Election Results Game Thread
So who runs in 2024? I don’t think it’s Biden or Trump.

It's all demographics. First few states were very white. White moderates liked Pete and Amy, white liberals liked Bernie and Warren.
As soon as they got into the blacker states, Biden won. It wasn't a conspiracy by the left wing media. Just demographics.
Re: Election Results Game Thread
I'm thinking that retaining the Senate majority will make McConnell less likely to support whatever nonsense challenges are coming down the pike.
I'd note also that Trump did himself no favors in that regard by declaring victory last night.

Re: Election Results Game Thread
That's going to be super interesting to see on the R side. If Pete and Amy hadn't dropped before Super Tuesday, there's a solid chance Bernie would have gotten the nomination. On the other side the moderates didn't drop out in 16, so we ended up with Trump.
It's possibly going to come down to how many sane Republicans don't run.

Why do you think that? Genuinely curious (about McConnell - I agree Trump did himself no favors).

What sane Republicans are left? I was trying to come up with a list last night...Mjl wrote: ↑Wed Nov 04, 2020 9:36 amThat's going to be super interesting to see on the R side. Romney? Rubio? I guess Hawley? After that....not really sure. And do any of them fire up the Trumplicans?
