the FACT is that North American megafauna evolved with wolves (and others) as the top predator. predator-prey interactions allow for the population control of both participants. wolves, cougars, coyotes, and bears do a much better job of maintaining the balance necessary to stave off infectious disease in the herd animals than humans could ever hope to through hunting

you are welcome to not want them in your backyard, but denying their natural role in the food web is just plain ignorant

Ive never argued for eradication or extinction. Idaho has done a better job at managing wolf populations than Oregon has and it has resulted in better populations and healthier populations of game animals.
