The illegal immigrants want in

INVASION!!!!!
Do not go gentle into that good night, Old age should burn and rave at close of day; Rage, rage against the dying of the light.
Re: The illegal immigrants want in
What defines refugee?
I'm married to someone who came to this country as a refugee. She had private organizations paying for getting her family here and on their feet. She wouldn't have been allowed in if not for that if I'm not mistaken.
Is anyone funding these folk? If so, c'mon in. If not, why should we let them in over those who are trying to come in legally?

legally, any foreigner coming to the US can apply for asylum, regardless of whether or not they enter via a formal port of entry...they are entitled, by law, to have their "case" heardMjl wrote: ↑Tue Nov 20, 2018 4:43 pm What defines refugee?

supple?
suckle?
Re: The illegal immigrants want in
Why the fuss? If you really care deep in your heart you should offer to house some asylum seekers. Don’t be a hypocrite.

And I take it there are so many in this case that we can't handle this due process?TraditionKU wrote: ↑Tue Nov 20, 2018 4:46 pmlegally, any foreigner coming to the US can apply for asylum, regardless of whether or not they enter via a formal port of entry...they are entitled, by law, to have their "case" heardMjl wrote: ↑Tue Nov 20, 2018 4:43 pm What defines refugee?

Something about this rubs me the wrong way. It's like a mass of people cutting in line and thinking they can do so just because of sheer numbers. Really unfair to other folks going about this the right way.

Cost of keeping them somewhere until every case is heard.
Non-anti-caravan folk - what exactly is it that you think should be done when these people get to the border?

What does Jordan do with their refugees from Syria and elsewhere? The best they can. There are a lot more refugees in Jordan than there are in the US and we have much more means to take care of them. I'm appalled at the heartlessness of this "Christian" nation.
As to IMZ, we took in kids with broken homes, I would have no problem taking in other's as well.
Defense. Rebounds.

This. And instead of spending money to enrich the owners of private detention centers, we could build additional processing facilities and hire additional staff to better process cases quicker. Many will still be sent back where they came from because their cases will not meet the criteria of our laws but the infrastructure should be in place to handle the situation.
If you are going to sell the hottest christmas toy, you better have the infrastructure in place to handle it when everyone wants to buy it. If you are going to build the best country, you better have the infrastructure in place when everyone wants to live here.

I wonder if myself, my family, my friends jump in a plane and fly to utila honduras, if they will feed us, shelter us, healthcare us, educate us at the supple of their bossom?

We're not picky though. If we cannot be directly on the water, we'll take a water view.
Re: The illegal immigrants want in
Not sure why you continue to think this whole "if you want them here then you should be willing to take them into your home" shtick. I have no problem with my white neighbors being in the country but I am not willing to let them live with me and my family, either. Your argument is childish.dolomite wrote: ↑Wed Nov 21, 2018 10:08 amSo how many can you take in?jhawks99 wrote: ↑Wed Nov 21, 2018 7:43 amjhawks99 wrote: ↑Wed Nov 21, 2018 7:42 am

The nation is full of unfilled apartments and homes for rent. The US Census report on housing for 3rd quarter 2018 estimated that there are more than 3 million households (homes and apartments) currently available to rent.
I would prefer that people coming into the country from somewhere else contribute to our national economy and rent a place to live rather than stay in my basement. So please, just stop.
