I was still a bit hesitant before Pittsburgh game. But seeing what Mahomes did against that defense compared to what Smith did, I am definitely encouraged. Eyes stayed up in blitzing plays. Smith's would drop and he would run at first pressure.

Defense is still a huge concern, but as the Falcons proved a few years ago, you can make it far with a pretty average defense.

And I think the Chiefs have already played 2 of the 4 toughest offenses they will face all year. 2 Future HOF QBs. They'll get to feast on the likes of Keenum, Dalton, Flacco and other average QBs from here on out.

I picked Chiefs to go 11-5 at the start of the year. I will now say 13-3. Will lose to the Rams, Pats and then some division game on the road.

Mahomes is exciting to watch and the game against the Steelers was probably the first game I had watched in its entirety in a long time...the kid just has that swagger and the offensive players are such a threat with his accuracy and arm. Defense on the other hand needs to improve. Houston just isn't the same guy he was 3-4 years ago, very little pressure on the opposing quarterback. They really don't have a stud pass rusher like most Chiefs teams in the past. I think that is what is hurting them the most. Big sacks pump the defense up and right now there is nothing.

Houston and Jones were both held throughout that game especially on the Big Ben TD were he crossed or almost crossed the line.
A good pass rush, especially if you can get it from four is better than any defensive back field. Secondary right now is bad but I put that blame on the lack of a consistent pass rush and Sutton's schemes. IMO his fronts and his back end ideals don't line up.
