And that sort of demonstrates how fucking idiotic the Trump play is here: you're really going to try to cash your Supreme Court chips in (whatever they may be) seeking a federal (judicial branch) intrusion on states' rights?

Even were the new plants on the Court inclined to help you (as a general matter), you're asking them to do so under this cover?

What you're really doing, now, is giving them cover to consider and roundly reject your play. Which I think is not what you wanted to do!

It's another delightful example of Trump not even playing Candyland, let alone checkers or any-dimensional chess.

Suppose you really did have a few justices predisposed to at least giving this shit oxygen. Maybe you shouldn't publicly pressure them to do so.
