IMO, when the Chiefs beat the Falcons no need to see Kelce, Hill or Mahomes until the playoffs. Rest and recovery at this point is more important than keeping their reps up. They can do that in practice.

I would treat that last game against the Chargers as a preseason game these rookies never got. Like others have mentioned...play Keyes, Baker. Play the guys you have questions about and see whether or not they are going to make the playoff roster. Saunders, Seals-Jones (no clue why he is on the roster) and Rankins. Rankins could especially be important considering I don't have any faith we will ever seen Schwartz in a Chiefs uniform again. The biggest one will be Gay. He had better get 100% of the snaps. I believe he is going to be the final missing piece for this defense to make a push for the SB because Neimann is about as worthless as a player I have ever seen.

Keep everyone as healthy as you can. Weird year. Mahomes is my MVP, but GB will have meaningful games

Mahomes isn’t going to sit with 5k in reach

I mean, he's already had 5k yards. I think he also proved with his contract, he cares about the team quite a bit and he won't sacrifice what the team has going for them for him to get 5k in passing yards. The health of him is far more important than the stats that follow. He's first in the league in passing yards by quite a bit.

If he's after 5k yards, all the more reason to light Atlanta up this weekend.
If he can get 400, he'd need 140 against the Chargers, which maybe he'd be allowed the first half to get.

Also don’t see Kelce sitting out if he has a legit chance to become the 1st TE in NFL history to lead the league in receiving yards.

These milestones and records matter to players.

I would be very interested to know which of any Chiefs players would actually publicly admit to putting personal accomplishments OVER winning another Super Bowl. My guess (and hope) is zero.
Even if they had financial incentives to achieve those personal accomplishments.

I am 100% torn on what Reid should or shouldn't do.
I say a player is getting paid to PLAY so you play them until the outcome of game is pretty much decided.
BUT.......
A) Reid has a history of resting starting "skill" players for the playoffs.
B) Are ANY of you going to tell me if Mahomes, Kelce, Hill, whomever, were to get injured in a "meaningless" game and then they miss/ed the playoffs and the Chiefs didn't win the Super Bowl - that you would be ok with the decision to have let them played? Of course hindsight is 20/20 but why take unnecessary risks if you don't have to?

Resting starters guarantees nothing. If they are up big late then take them out. Otherwise, keep working and preparing for the playoff run. Game reps are more necessary than game rest.

I agree with this, but so much second guessing makes it hard for a coach. The reality is, KC needs to hone its game

It's not hard. They just don't read random fan pages and they're good.

Coaches know that players need to play. No team is so great that they can just loaf around waiting for the playoffs to start. KC still has a lot of things to work on. That parchwork offensive line needs reps with the first string stars so they can gel better and get the timing down. They have been struggling lately.

That patchwork line is why sitting Mahomes is probably going to happen.
