Guess deandre baker broke his femur on the play. pretty gruesome stuff
Re: Chefs
Yeah. Bad day all around. Baker and Gay went down; hope Gay will be ready. Hearing Rodgers basically dis Mahomes after the Bears game. I am hoping 15 comes out angry. Mahomes clearly the MVP in actual terms on what he means to a team. But I might vote for Henry based on his unbelievable season. Rodgers is an ass.

Re: Chefs
Moving forward I wonder what the Chiefs do with Baker. In limited snaps he looked pretty good. Rusty in some aspects (understandably) but he looked like a guy you keep on your roster and how could have competed for a starting spot next year. Best case scenario you could have let Ward walk and kept Baker on his rookie deal for the cheap. Now, with a broken femur who knows.
Gay, was never going to get meaningful snaps on defense this year. He was to far behind and was only going to be a special teams guy. Hopefully you get Dorian O'Daniel back even though an ankle injury could be healed in two weeks. Same thing with Fenton. Both of those guys are key special teamers who also could have slide into roles on the defensive side if injuries occurred.

A lot of torque going in one direction followed by a quick and sudden change in another.

Re: Chefs
Rodgers has had the better season this year so I'd expect him to win the MVP. He had 15 of 17 games with a passer rating over 107 (Mahomes had 8 for reference). He's been pretty consistently great all season long. I'd vote Mahomes 2nd in the MVP race this year; his season has also been excellent.Sparko wrote: ↑Sun Jan 03, 2021 11:21 pm Yeah. I'd vote Allen or Mahomes before Rodgers.

Re: Chefs
I'm sure Rodgers is the heavy betting favorite and I suppose I get it.
I really do think the Chiefs win about 8-9 games with a replacement level QB and Mahomes only lost a single game.
Allen and the Bills are the story of the year, imo.

Re: Chefs
That's the biggest thing I have a problem with. Have heard plenty say "Rodgers wrapped it up with his week 17 performance" but yet Mahomes has been so good, that his team didn't need him in week 17. Like, I think Rodgers gets it because he was money down the stretch and Mahomes struggled, but Mahomes went 8-0 on the road with 5 of those wins being against playoff teams or a team who just missed the playoffs at 10-6.
Rodgers had some pure stinkers like the Minnesota loss and the Tampa Bay debacle, while Mahomes had a one score loss when he put up 32 points and the defense stunk.

Re: Chefs
Rodgers is going to get it because he stat padded down the stretch against bad teams while Mahomes, struggled numbers wise. Mahomes game against the Falcons all but killed the national press for getting MVP. That's fine. Mahomes will get the other MVP at the end of the game in Tampa Bay.

Re: Chefs
The Tampa Bay loss was a true turd, I agree but Rodgers went 27-41 for 291 yards, 3 TDs, no INTs and 1 fumble in that Minnesota loss. Mahomes had 8 games with a lower passer rating than what Rodgers had in that Minnesota loss. It's not a knock on Mahomes to admit that Rodgers had a better statistical season. I'd take Mahomes over Rodgers right now 10 out of 10 times.NewtonHawk11 wrote: ↑Mon Jan 04, 2021 12:30 pm That's the biggest thing I have a problem with. Yes, I think that KC had a better year than Green Bay overall but there is a separate award for teams that win the most games. It's given to the winner of the 4 round single elimination tourney that starts next week and is called the Lombardi Trophy. The MVP should go to the player who had the best overall regular season.
Re: Chefs
That's the one I hope he wins. He'll get some more regular season MVPs in his career. Second is still a great season. Some voters may even put him third behind Josh Allen but that's overthinking it a bit.holidaysmore wrote: ↑Mon Jan 04, 2021 1:20 pm Rodgers is going to get it because he stat padded down the stretch against bad teams while Mahomes, struggled numbers wise. Re: Chefs
Which is subjective. And, the award is most valuable of the league and not most outstanding in the league.
I think you can make good arguments for Allen, Mahomes, and Rodgers, and then it gets much less convincing with guys like Henry, Wilson, and Brady.

Re: Chefs
Rodgers, Mahomes and Allen then everyone else. Really the guy who should be sick is Wilson. Had his chance to run away with it but then hit a career wall.
