I heard from DC on Thursday evening. He was enjoying the debate. It didn't change his mind, he had already voted for Biden earlier in the week. He felt ill for about 24 hours, but he got over it.

DC will be at the Solstice celebration next summer. Feral will be there and so will Fenton. They will do a performative group hug. Afterwards, during the drum circle, they will pass around the beating stick. Soon we will all be friends again.

I heard from DC again today.

He is helping his father-in-law, Coach Tom, recover from a case of consumption he contracted when DC took him to the trump rally in Omaha. Coach Tom loves a good pep rally. DC didn't want to go, but no one says "no" to Coach Tom in Nebraska.

I exchanged texts with him on Wednesday as half his political party was intent on burning itself to the ground in an embarrassing boot licking display at our nation's Capitol. Impeachment or 25th Amendment he doesn't seem to care, get the sum bitch outta the WH. I don't know if he even reads this stuff any more. My gut says he has bigger fish to fry closer to home right now. Hopefully things get better for all of us and he comes back. I have given him as much shit as anyone but in the end he has been a good friend to me and I have tried to reciprocate. I think him a good man.

It may not be possible in 2021 but at some point in the future he will join us out in The Spud Lounge and he will be sworn in as a member of the AV Club. But he should probably not leave Creamcheese alone in the room with me after she has had a couple of beers.....some flames are never fully extinguished.

Oh; and he says Coach Papaw Tom is doing great and wishes all of Jayhawks a big "fuck you".
