As you might recall from Impeachment Vol. I, the House very much can impeach and hold the articles for transmission to the Senate until whatever date the House pleases.

It makes absolutely zero sense not to have had the House vote already.

Two reasons they didn't hold the vote--They needed a unanimous consent the Republicans objected to; and over the weekend, the Capitol was under significant repair due to the insurrection. They are working on a congressionally initiated 25th Amendment which is based on a vote by impaneled Congressmen. They can present that document to Pence; if he demurs, I suppose Pelosi would be next in line. It might have to be vetted by the Supreme Court on 21 January or so--I saw this posited by scholars and the house is looking into it.

Probably we'd find out what Trump/Putin has on him. Everyone in his orbit had something he could hold over their head. We actually have threats of nationwide attacks this weekend. We need some strong preparations now.

What I'm guessing is Ous posted the tweet going around about the State Department having a press release of some sort that says Trump's term ends at like 7:49pm EST on 1/11. Pence also the same as well.

Funny thing I saw on my drive home. On the side of a not highly used highway, there is a sign that has been up that says Trump Pence Keep America Great. Ya know the big blue sign that shows that..
