That was about 15 years ago and I still feel bad about it.KU76erfan wrote: ↑Tue Jan 05, 2021 5:52 pm

I saw Ramey as a guest with the Wichita orchestra in 1990 singing buffo basso selections from Barber of Seville. He nailed them.
Re: What music does everyone listen to?
So you guys know that old blues rock song, get your kicks on Route 66?
I’m gonna do a death metal version of it and call it, get your kicks on route 666.
Who wants to help write the lyrics?

Little known fact: MF Doom performed with 3rd Base as Zeb Love X while he was a member of KMD a long long long long time ago. He's around 18 years old, bespectacled, and delivers the final verse of 3rd Base's seminal hip hop song.jeepinjayhawk wrote: ↑Tue Jan 05, 2021 3:03 pm And, of course, this track shows up in my Spotify today:

Alligator.
Also, was on Spotify letting them hit me up with random songs, got served a cover of "Better Now" but all 80'fied.
Went down the internet worm hole and found this dude:
Simon de Wit
Now I know some you oldies will be like, 'i don't get this kinda stuff', and I may fit in that boat, and that's fine but this guy does ( and by does, I mean, he plays all the instruments, records, edits and sings over ) these covers of songs in one hour -- the talent is immense:

So, if any of you have been to Luckenbach Texas, you know that they have live music 365 days a year.
On most days, it is a "pickers circle", random musicians just strumming, picking and singing whatever pops up. It is really amazing to watch, especially with the talent pool around the Austin area.
Here are a few great videos from the days past featuring Steve Earle:

Let's go to Luckenbach, Texas
With Waylon and Willie and the boys
This successful life we're livin'
got us feuding like the Hatfields and McCoys,
Between Hank Williams' pain songs and, Newbury's train songs and Blue Eyes cryin' in the Rain
Out in Luckenbach, Texas ain't nobody feelin' no pain
