And there will be multiple articles this week written about it. If he needs to sit next week then sit him. I'd rather he be healthy than to play in a game and do permanent damage.pdub wrote: ↑Sun Jan 17, 2021 6:00 pm Also just preemptively putting this out there that the non Chiefs fans will preach player safety and hypocrisy of the NFLs measures to protect players if Mahomes plays while ignoring the fact they'd, if put in the AFC/NFC championship, be praying for their quarterback to step up and gut it out.
Defense. Rebounds.
Re: Chefs
If doctors tell him that he has to sit no matter what and is out, I have no problem with it.pdub wrote: ↑Sun Jan 17, 2021 6:00 pm Also just preemptively putting this out there that the non Chiefs fans will preach player safety and hypocrisy of the NFLs measures to protect players if Mahomes plays while ignoring the fact they'd, if put in the AFC/NFC championship, be praying for their quarterback to step up and gut it out.
If he is given a say in it and he says he can't or won't go, I have no problem with it.
I am a Chiefs fan. It would just be added to my list of "what if" seasons and I'd start thinking about the off-season.

Agree to disagree.
Athletes through the years have fought through injuries, playing on broken legs, ankles, through severe flus, through concussions.
It is a persons decision to do the things he does. If the doctors say dont play and he agrees then no one should doubt his decision for a second. If they would hypothetically call him weak, fuck em, they are a-holes.
But if he wants to play, imo, that's his choice. Doesn't make me an a hole for thinking he can make that choice. And athletes have ignored advice for ages. Some in these moments have become heroes ( sports heroes ) for their grit.
I know its faux paux to believe in grit these days. I dont care. If hes not cleared, hes not cleared. If the doctors recommend his sitting out but leave the option open and Mahomes wants to play, he comes out and wins the AFC again, hes a badass.

I think a true football fan realizes that this is a generational talent and wish him well, regardless of other team loyalty.

Essentially the NFL’s concussion protocol is a five step process so do the math. Some of it will be based on the severity of the concussion but if he participates in practice in a limited fashion on Thursday and Friday and then in the walk through on Saturday he will go. Remember Mahomes has to be cleared by a third party neurologist. If he is cleared he will play. My guess, at least right now is that he plays.
