High-impact recruits?

Post by RockChalk2005 »

I'm a bit concerned that the current squad doesn't have the talent to compete at a high level.

Who do we have coming in next year that could potentially impact the game? Any 5-star recruits looking promising? We need help.

The Jersey pg that we just signed, although he’s a 2022 recruit, even though I’ve heard that he could reclassify to this year.

None at the moment.

Would be nice if we could get a high level junior PG that can shoot to reclassify.

Doesn't seem promising. We lack a dominant big that can reliably score inside. And while our perimeter is better, but I don't see how any of the incoming recruits will improve things next year. This looks to be a dismal stretch for Kansas basketball, especially with potential sanctions arriving in the next few months. Was hoping for some encouraging news on the recruiting front.

Fair play. But do you think that McCormack will compare to the likes of Dok, the Morris twins, Arthur, Aldrich, Embiid, Ellis, etc?

Dmac is sure different from Dok. Dok was in control defensively, but Dmac runs around, often out of the box which leaves easy cut for opponents. Yes he shoots better at the line and on the perimeter, but I rather see him dunk inside and grab rebounds. Have he even try dunking in a crowd like Dok?

The bigger problem is if we are supposed to be a perimeter team then we need to hit from the perimeter.

6-24.

If only this team had, like, a burger boy combo guard...

Bryce will be back.
Wilson.
Ochai.
DMac.

I thought this team would get it together.
It may take a normalish offseason.

I want to believe you but I just don't see it. I think McCormack won't be a reliable scorer against quality bigs. Not in the way that our past bigs have been.

And our perimeter isn't elite. They're very good. But not dominant. We've always had some guards that could score. This team doesn't quite have it.

He's shooting 45% from 2 on the year. That's just not a great percentage for a big. Which is why I think we need a high-impact forward.

Problems ranked.
-No lone player who can attack the basket with speed or create his own shot
- Perimeter shooting
- Consistent focus, especially on defense, throughout the game
- Attacking rebounds
- Ball distribution and handling
- Reliable inside scorer

Sorry to say but we have been so bad at things that DMacs play inside, especially of late, has actually been a positive ( 48% on the year, 52% last 10 ).

Wilson and Braun and Garrett are far more to blame for our loosing record on the new year than DMac.

Ochai is our best player and he shot, what, 3-11? In theory, because we have seen it working, our perimeter is better, but lately there isn’t evidence of that.
