Super Bowl LV
Re: Super Bowl LV
Yea, that comment doesn't make sense to me.
Brady has aged physically but he's still a mastermind of the game.
Hard to bet against him, even against a superstar like Mahomes.

Brady's played in a Super Bowl under 4 different Presidents. Weak era gets thrown out when you last that long.NewtonHawk11 wrote: ↑Mon Feb 01, 2021 12:47 pmA depleted QB era? Please explain. Manning, Big Ben, Brees, Rivers, Wilson and Rodgers are all Hall of Famers. But the thing that makes any QB look like Trent Dilfer is getting sacked repeatedly or having to throw under duress. Mahomes is the best ever at throwing under duress which is why I am hopeful KC will squeak out a win. But the Buc's have a significant advantage with their D-Line versus KCs O-Line. Montana was better than Brady IMHO, having seen them both, anyway. He is GOAT of a depleted QB era, that is now restocked. SF was much better overall than Tampa Bay, but full-strength KC is the best team in the NFL. A depleted O-Line KC is a worry to me. It won't even make the post-game analysis if KC loses, because Brady. But it is a significant issue, especially remembering how "meh" KC was without Fish last year.
Re: Super Bowl LV
Obviously there's more that went into it besides Brady, but...you're not talking about a down QB era if Brady kept two rings (making him all-timer in any case) and distributed four of them among the [Manning/Ben/Brees/Rivers/Wilson/Rodgers] group.CrimsonNBlue wrote: ↑Mon Feb 01, 2021 1:04 pmBrady's played in a Super Bowl under 4 different Presidents. Manning squared plus Kurt Warner.jfish26 wrote: ↑Mon Feb 01, 2021 1:22 pmObviously there's more that went into it besides Brady, but...you're not talking about a down QB era if Brady kept two rings (making him all-timer in any case) and distributed four of them among the [Manning/Ben/Brees/Rivers/Wilson/Rodgers] group.CrimsonNBlue wrote: ↑Mon Feb 01, 2021 1:04 pmBrady's played in a Super Bowl under 4 different Presidents. I think Rodgers and Wilson are probably the start of the inflated QB stat era. Which, Mahomes is firmly in but he also looks better than everyone else just 3 seasons in.
Re: Super Bowl LV
Mahomes is sort of the Mike Trout. Evolutionary, as opposed to revolutionary.CrimsonNBlue wrote: ↑Mon Feb 01, 2021 1:29 pmManning squared plus Kurt Warner.jfish26 wrote: ↑Mon Feb 01, 2021 1:22 pmObviously there's more that went into it besides Brady, but...you're not talking about a down QB era if Brady kept two rings (making him all-timer in any case) and distributed four of them among the [Manning/Ben/Brees/Rivers/Wilson/Rodgers] group.CrimsonNBlue wrote: ↑Mon Feb 01, 2021 1:04 pm

I think he's gone.holidaysmore wrote: ↑Mon Feb 01, 2021 10:44 am Sammy has a ton of incentive money riding on this Super Bowl game and with him missing half of the regular season and the money that came with that my guess would be he goes. I also saw him featured on the Chiefs Instagram page with his SB jersey on. He plays. How well or long I have no idea. This has to be his last game as Chief, right?
Chiefs can't rely on him for a full season.
They could go after a cheapish option like David Moore out of Seattle or Kendrick Bourne out of San Fran.

There's literally like zero market out there for him. If he wants to make less money and come back, he will be welcomed back, I think.

Eh - when healthy, he's got speed and height.

Re: Super Bowl LV
Why didn't anybody take a flier on him last year when he came off one of the best WR postseason outputs in recent history?

Re: Super Bowl LV
They have to test negative for 5 consecutive days. Probably won't know until Saturday if they can play unless they test positive during the week, then they are done.

wasn’t sure about the testing regularity, among other things

Re: Super Bowl LV
I want to say I read that in three seasons (?) with the Chiefs Sammy has played at or below half of the regular season games. That being said the Chiefs would absolutely welcome back Lizard King. It would be another team friendly deal with a ton of playing time incentives. You feel pretty good about the depth Hardman and Pringle provide but ideally they would like to get another 'true' 2 if they could.
Why didn't the Chiefs take the entire team, staff, and traveling party and 'bubble' them in a hotel until they travel to Tampa. Shuttle them back forth to the facility and hotel. Eliminate any potential.
