Fred McMurray is in it too.

And 1970s girl jeans are the best jeans.

It was known as the role that killed him, cuz it was filmed in the Utah desert somewhere the gummint had done nuclear bomb testing, and like everyone on set ended up with cancer.

a couple years ago i went back and watched a number of The Duke’s old movies, many of which i hadn’t seen as a kid

i was shocked at the racism, so much so that i have very little desire to watch many of them again

part of that, i’m sure, was being a victim of the times. but, he himself was a supporter of white supremacy as well

I used to work with Andy Devine's nephew. Yeah, that's my claim to fame.
Anyhoo, he spent a lot of time at John Wayne's house growing up, mostly in the swimming pool.
He never said anything about the Duke being racist, but mentioned he liked the Mexican ladies.
A lot.

there’s a fairly well-publicized interview in Playboy from the early 70s that raised a lot of eyebrows

Anyone else watch 30 for 30 last night? Al Davis vs Pete Rozell?

Pretty interesting but they were pretty pro Al.

The Swarm finally put an end to the disaster movie genre from the mid-70s. All the Airport movies (Airplane spoofed them all), Towering Inferno, Poseidon Adventure and then finally Swarm - get as many stars as possible and kill a bunch of them. I think it was the same director. This one was a box office bomb unlike the others.

Had to work after the game tonight, mostly sitting on a bridge waiting for others to work and for me to test. Checked out about 30 minutes of King of Stanton Island. Pretty good stuff from what I saw. I may have to watch it from the beginning.

I’ve set this series to record. I miss Tony Bourdain... Hoping this show lives up to the hype. I keep seeing commercials all over the place.

Just finished Samurai Gourmet on Netflix last night. A little odd, but I liked it.

That's awesome, the chess games in the show were extremely well researched and realistic (I even recognized a game by my favourite player Rashid Nezhmetinov!)
Got around to this.
Will agree, well done series, with attention to detail and with somber moments.
I wouldn't be surprised if Anya Taylor-Joy wins best actress in the Golden Globes.

We're now something like halfway through Suits. Fun show. Hilariously unrealistic as to how law and law firms work; it'd be like if a non-doctor tried to make a doctor show based solely on what the non-doctor knows from other doctor shows.

But, fun!

Just watched a youtube original doc about the origins and history of Coachella Festival.

REALLY interesting, definitely worth the time.

PS- The Daft Punk Coachella set still gives me chills
