We're within weeks of Coach K saying that duke is going to opt out of the tournament.

Is the BIG 12 the only basketball conference having a basketball conference tournament in 2021?

I don't think there's any justification to this, but I think outside of the top 2 lines, I think the 6 line is the easiest line to advance far. You have a very fringe at large team at 11, an either underachieving blue blood or an overachieving non P5 school as the 3 seed. Make it to the next weekend and you have a shot of going against a 2 or a 7 most likely. Definitely doable.
Six seeds have a slightly higher overall win percentage than five seeds and much better than seven seeds: http://mcubed.net/ncaab/seeds.shtml

Overall tournament record of #6 seeds: (185-162) 53.3%

vs. #14 (14-2) 87.5%
vs. #15 (0-0) 0.0%
vs. #16 (0-0) 0.0%

vs. #3 (7-11) 38.9%

Yeah if you can avoid the #1 seeds, you do it.

In KUs case this year, you want them to be a 6 seed to have the highest possibility of advancing the furthest, no question.

Nice win tonight. I really didn’t think we’d beat osu the second time a week ago.

We have

Isu, isu and ksu in our next three. Then ttu, Tex and BU.

6-3 may be possible in our last 9, especially after tonight’s win.

Maybe a year like this is needed to prove how pointless they are to begin with. But, the NCAA and conferences need their money, so they won't be going anywhere.

Teams aren't going to have equal schedules, just like football. It's all about getting to the money maker (ncaa tournament).
Take away their home games!!

The NCAA needs to get out in front of this. What happens if a bunch of secure schools start dropping out? You will have bracket chaos because you will necessarily have more automatic qualifiers who would not have made the field otherwise.
Heres an idea. how about we just let them play basketball. none of this kids are going to be affected by covid. hell even your "at risk" percentage of the population has a very high survival rate. this shit has gone on toooooooo long

We will see what happens if a team like Gonzaga or Baylor goes to a conference tourney bubble, gets popped for a covid protocol violation and has to miss the ncaa tourney.

Kind of wild, right? But I agree that I like it.

W - @ISU
W - @KSU

Then win 1 of last 3 (TT, @UT, Bay)

That's 11-7. Good for 3rd, 4th and 2nd place finishes the last 3 years and an average finish of 3.7 over the last 10 years.
