And the 'unsportsmanlike conduct' on Tyrann even though Brady ran after him to say something. At least in that case that should be on both of them but because it is Brady it was on Tyrann. The list goes on and on. *Sigh*

The "hold" after the ball was in the air, but according to the refs, "Prior to the pass being thrown, holding on the defense" It was tipped immediately, so PI is off the table too.

The flag likely came after the tip - but the 'hold' ( cough cough bullshit ) before.

Maybe I am imagining this but I noticed and was very surprised that it seemed to me there were plays defensive players didn't give 100% and/or gave up on the play/s.
I noticed it on the Gronk TD catch at the end of the 1st Quarter and other times during the game.
Am I alone in thinking this?

If your argument is that it in the 70s there weren’t rules protecting the QB, fine, but I think Brady would adjust.

But Brady would be a very big QB in the 70s. Players were generally smaller. And weren’t as athletic. And offensive schemes have exponentially gotten more complex.

There's two main ways you can have these arguments - judge them in their time period - which Brady has clearly dominated - or you compare them to players in the past and say they couldn't do the same in that era.

I always take those type of hypothetical arguments as if peak athlete ( say Brady in 2011 ) was teleported ( I know but it's a hypothetical argument ) with their knowledge, skillset and body instantly to that time period ( and vice versa ).

The whole argument of 'well it's not fair they had access to things prior players didn't' is now moot - and in fact, is a large part of the argument.

Brady is a bigger QB than both Blanda and Bradshaw.
He could spend his practices and offseason in the 70s teaching his coach the tactics he knows that have never been tried before. And now the linemen and linebackers coming after him are smaller and slower and have less complex defensive schemes to memorize.

Teleport Bradshaw to a game today and he's getting these zones he's never seen and now the defensive linemen are big and fast - and the corners faster. The game altogether is faster.
