Re: Remaining schedule
We're within weeks of Coach K saying that duke is going to opt out of the tournament.
Re: Remaining schedule
Is the BIG 12 the only basketball conference having a basketball conference tournament in 2021?
Re: Remaining schedule
Six seeds have a slightly higher overall win percentage than five seeds and much better than seven seeds: http://mcubed.net/ncaab/seeds.shtmlNewtonHawk11 wrote: ↑Mon Feb 08, 2021 9:33 am KU wins 5 of the last 7. They are probably going to be on that 6 line, easily.
I don't think there's any justification to this, but I think outside of the top 2 lines, I think the 6 line is the easiest line to advance far. You have a very fringe at large team at 11, an either underachieving blue blood or an overachieving non P5 school as the 3 seed. Make it to the next weekend and you have a shot of going against a 2 or a 7 most likely. Definitely doable.
Overall tournament record of #6 seeds: (185-162) 53.3%
vs. #1 (5-11) 31.3%
vs. #2 (10-26) 27.8%
vs. #3 (38-52) 42.2%
vs. #4 (4-2) 66.7%
vs. #5 (0-1) 0.0%
vs. #6 (0-0) 0.0%
vs. #7 (5-3) 62.5%
vs. #8 (1-3) 25.0%
vs. #9 (0-0) 0.0%
vs. #10 (6-4) 60.0%
vs. #11 (102-58) 63.8%
vs. #12 (0-0) 0.0%
vs. #13 (0-0) 0.0%
vs. #14 (14-2) 87.5%
vs. #15 (0-0) 0.0%
vs. #16 (0-0) 0.0%
Overall tournament record of #7 seeds: (147-163) 47.4%
vs. #1 (1-6) 14.3%
vs. #2 (29-68) 29.9%
vs. #3 (7-11) 38.9%
vs. #4 (4-2) 66.7%
vs. #5 (0-0) 0.0%
vs. #6 (3-5) 37.5%
vs. #7 (0-0) 0.0%
vs. #8 (1-1) 50.0%
vs. #9 (0-0) 0.0%
vs. #10 (99-65) 60.4%
vs. #11 (0-4) 0.0%
vs. #12 (0-0) 0.0%
vs. #13 (0-0) 0.0%
vs. #14 (1-0) 100.0%
vs. #15 (2-1) 66.7%
vs. #16 (0-0) 0.0%

Re: Remaining schedule
Yeah if you can avoid the #1 seeds, you do it.
In KUs case this year, you want them to be a 6 seed to have the highest possibility of advancing the furthest, no question.

Re: Remaining schedule
Nice win tonight. I really didn’t think we’d beat osu the second time a week ago.
We have
Isu, isu and ksu in our next three. Then ttu, Tex and BU.
6-3 may be possible in our last 9, especially after tonight’s win.

Maybe a year like this is needed to prove how pointless they are to begin with. But, the NCAA and conferences need their money, so they won't be going anywhere.

Take away their home games!!BasketballJayhawk wrote: ↑Mon Feb 08, 2021 12:14 pm If they're going to make teams forfeit games for following the covid guidelines then we shouldn't even be playing at all.
Teams aren't going to have equal schedules, just like football. It's all about getting to the money maker (ncaa tournament).

KU -14 tomorrow night.
Dare I say it, seems way too low.

We will see what happens if a team like Gonzaga or Baylor goes to a conference tourney bubble, gets popped for a covid protocol violation and has to miss the ncaa tourney.NDballer13 wrote: ↑Tue Feb 09, 2021 3:24 pmMaybe a year like this is needed to prove how pointless they are to begin with. Line is up to -15.5 some places.
Re: Remaining schedule
And an ESPN game, thank goodness.
Re: Remaining schedule
W - @ISU
W - @KSU
Then win 1 of last 3 (TT, @UT, Bay)
That's 11-7. Good for 3rd, 4th and 2nd place finishes the last 3 years and an average finish of 3.7 over the last 10 years.
