10 out of 10 would take this as their down year. UK/Duke would love to be in our shoes.

The NCAA investigation dragged us all the way to a 4 seed!

8 out of 10 D1 programs would love for their 'up' year to be this good.
There are 350 D1 schools in the NCAA.
20% of that is 70 - we're still in the top 25.

Good points all.
So, can we just shut up about how horrible this team is?

Yeah, if you picked 100 characteristic of a coach, Self is better at ~75 of them than Roi.
Which of the ~25 of them that Roi is > Bill do these fall under?
Not a person on here who wouldn't have been happy if Roi stayed and won 3 'ships and we never had Self at KU. Amiright?

Big thing I noticed. ESPN says Kansas, Kentucky, Duke, Michigan State and UNC all having down years. Bitch KU was out of the top 25 for 1 week, for the first time in like 12 years and they are still winning 66% of their games.

FOH with that.
I honestly wonder if that narrative contributed to us not being ranked that week.
I only came to kick some ass...

Rock the fucking house and kick some ass.

I don't think we woulda dropped out of the top 25 if we had Bryce, either.

We were beating OSU with Bryce in, until one of the OSU guys dropped a Ray Mysterio top rope body slam onto him.

I think this is valid.
That was a tough loss - but a play or two by Bryce would not be out of the question for turning the tide in our favor.

Valid point.

Rankings don't mean anything blah blah blah . . . I liked having that streak.

Everyone argues past each other.

We played it correctly last night for most of it: Dave should play his regular minutes. His spell should be Bryce Thompson, not Mitch Lightfoot.

Denying either that Dave fouling out hurt us or that the small lineup helped us in a spot doesn't make any sense.

Two very dumb fouls in OT back to back.
Dave had the guy sealed.
And then what was CB doing out there?

No guarantee that Roy would have won any championships at KU. Bringing it into the equation is pretty Gutterish of you.

It's funny how Roy started winning more at the highest level after he started to have Michael Jordan recruiting for him every single season.

Nike / Jordan backing, bro! Roy adapted to the times.

I was reading on 247 that when our adidas deal was up Nike was going to give us a combined offer lower than an Okie State. I know our football program is hot garbage but are they dragging us down that much? It would seem to me that the Jayhawk brand, meaning everything KU related has never been better so why the fall from grace?

You're right, there no guarantee he would have won any at KU.
Or, that he would have won 1. Or 2. Or 3. Or 4. Or 5. Or 6.........
My bringing his winning 3 championships in to the "equation" when someone pointed out that Self is better than Roi at 75 out of 100 coaching characteristics - may be "Gutterish" but I feel it's also extremely valid to the topic.
The main objective of a "Blue Blood" program is to win a championship.
Whatever "characteristics" Self is superior to Roi in/at, Roi has 3 rings and Bill has 1.
Whatever "characteristic/s" winning champiosnships fall under, it's been/in/to Roi's advantage over Bill's. That's all I was conveying. Make of it as you will. Which you obviously already have.
