Clams and garlic.

Yuck.

Growing up in kansas i never developed the taste for seafood. Especially invertebrates. Even when i spent 15 years on the coast i could never do it. Salmon, halibut, trout, catfish i can do....dont like but will eat...a very rare fresh crab in butter. Thats it.

I take it you're never had grilled abalone?

To me, you basically said Nachos and Chicken Nuggets don't belong at baseball games but you would like to try the Sushi at Guaranteed Rate Field.

I'm waiting for the day when a highly respected pizza restaurant decides to have canned dog food as an available topping.
These days, I find way too many food choices are really not much more than gimmicks.

I think their clam pizza was created naturally and not as a trick to gain business.
Go read up - and if you do and come back with some long explanation of why you think it is still a gimmick just so you can be right, just know i won't read it.

Should really be a treat if we finish anything less than as national champs.

As the resident vegetarian a good portion of this discussion is N/A to me. However, I’ve heard all these things about abalone (and have I heard some things, living where we do) that I’d like you guys to confirm/deny.

Several years ago we went camping at a State Park near Mendocino, on the coast. I think we were the only ones in the whole Park not interested in abalone. One morning around 2:30 am we were woken by the noise outside. It resembled the movie scene where an entire medieval village going to hunt the monster in the middle of the night - carrying lanterns and sticks and buckets and stuff. We came to find out the next morning that the entirety of the campground was waiting for the low tide to go abalone “hunting”. Apparently it was quite a party on the beach, park rangers included, enforcing strict collection limits.

So, the family in the neighboring campsite described abalone as tasting like tire-treads dipped in honey! They offered us the abalone that they were cooking - of course we declined. They also offered us a few shells- wish I had taken them up.

I was simply stating that I felt putting clams on a pizza was a gimmick. People disagree? Fantastic.
In other news, the Pope is Catholic, God willing - KU is going to be playing tournament games this month, and I'm fat.
