Rightfully so that Les is on the stand but Jeff shouldn't be far behind. IMO, he should be at the top of the list. He hired the guy. We all knew it was and then 'Miles to Go' and Beaty's (another Long specialty) deposition only confirmed the hiring 'process' was a complete sham. It would appear, depending on who you ask that this information was readily available if you wanted to find it.

If we are talking about the overall health of our Athletic program Jeff, is not making me feel real comfortable with his leadership much less a potentially severe basketball judgement coming soon. He has done nothing but fumble his way through his tenure so far and this latest blunder only reaffirms that.

I'm sure it was written earlier in this post but Long gets one year PER year of probation KU gets from the basketball scandal extended to his contract.

You get 3 years of probation, that's a lot of extra money for Long.

Miles has done nothing but 'start recruiting the right way'.
But then hasn't shown anything on the field - including bone headed calls, clock management and overall boring offense. And can't retain his staff.
Yea, your personnel matters a good amount, but no wins is no wins.

And that's the guy Long brought in.
Could be a good moment to get them both out.

The problem is this: he is a predator with young women students the school needs to protect. Gone IMHO. Long plausible deniability? Maybe. But package deal.

But you'd think plausible deniability isn't really a thing when it comes to this; this was obviously not a secret.

Just have a feeling it was a situation of KU/Girod going after whichever AD could deliver Les Miles, skeletons be damned. That was Long. Long delivered.

I think it's completely backwards to look at this from a "what's fair to Les Miles" point of view; should he be "punished" for past conduct, etc. Fair or unfair, accepting millions to be in the public eye (the millions coming from public universities, no less) means you don't really get to cry "cancel culture" over this.

I care about what's in KU's best interests. To me, that means separating from a guy who was creepy enough to be told not to be alone with coeds, and stupid/broken enough to still do it! But I suppose everyone's mileage may vary on this point.

I tend to think that, as of today, if the past behavior has been adjudicated, then it is done. The bigger issue, to me, is what exactly happened during KU's hiring process? Who asked and said what and when?

And, of course, it's fluid. If LSU and Miles covered up some bad shit that will come to light through sunshine requests, etc.--we're now in new territory.

Here's my guess on what happened with the hiring process.

Long to LSU - Hey anything happen behind the scenes with Les that public doesn't know about?
LSU - Yes kind of but he remained coach and nothing is public about what happened. Fans, players and boosters all loved him until he just didn't succeed at the level we would have liked.
Long - OK so nothing tremendously bad must have happened, I think he's our guy.

Then this all happens and comes to public eye. But I do think some of this is who can get Miles, Long said, "I can" and the rest happened as it happened.

I still can't, for the life of me, decide why his lawyer wanted information released. I know that what was released was a different institution and all that, but the lawyer said, yeah let's release this.

This seems different that Les is coming out with guns blazing. I believe he thought that Long would have his back and he didn't. I don't know how they could ever repair that working relationship so one or both are going to have to get to scooting.
