I was in the S&P 500 pit on Oct 19th 1987. I watched Tony Saliba make MILLIONS in one day while other SMART people got destroyed.
Before October 19th 1987 Tony Saliba was probably no smarter than 75% of the other guys (and girls) who traded in that pit. He just so happened to make the right investment at the right time.

In 1997 I was told by a wise investor to invest a measly $1000 in a restaurant business that people such as Howard Schultz were starting to invest in. I passed.
I probably would have been able to buy a nice house with that $1000 investment.
The same extremely successful and smart people who invested in that business - will tell you they have made some shitty investments too.

My hope is, once people see their purchasing power disappear in smoke, that they will come to realize that we have far more serious problems than gender pronouns, white privilege and whatever fantasies the left invents. Then again, coronavirus did not wake people up -- it made them dumber.
