Hey here's a football team that hasn't won in a decade and a basketball program about to be punished by the NCAA.
Also the donors have been DRAINED for years and years.
What's not to like?

Yes, and if anyone fixes it, they are basically at a lifetime contract.

All they need to do is fix Kansas Football. Sounds simple!

And by fix, we just mean bowl eligible every other year.

Zenger was like 5th on our list and Long was essentially retired that on one would touch.

Very realistic we are looking at something like a Banks Floodman, Kevin Kane combo--I'm not sure either has started getting grey hair yet.

He and Toomey are the enforcers.

Dodd saying that Randy Shannon’s name is emerging at for Kansas HC. All preliminary now because their is no AD.

Former Miami HC. DC at Florida and UCF mod recently. Why UCF is important..

Terry Mohijar the current AD at UCF. I have heard considers Kansas a job he wants to have. His dream job.

Randy Shannon would be 'eh' to me. Of course any success is better than what we have had but Shannon has always been an under whelming guy after his first year.

I see that Stuckey has named the new football operations guy. Nice hire! Those moves I like. I am less thrilled by hearing things like Manning and Floodman for AD when they don't really meet the criteria compared to other potential candidates that could be available.

Love Stuckey bring back involved with the program.

He’s the football relations guy, not operations guy though. So he’ll be a guy that is speaking on behalf of the program a ton. Which is good.

Shannon is a good recruiter. He kept his nose clean at a university where that's hard to do. And he improved the Academics of the football players at Miami.

We're in a pickle, we can't get a home run guy. I get that 7-5 at Miami is meh, it'd be a welcome change here.

Since this AD hire is probably 50% based on who you can hire as football HC, I'd be interested in seeing who's in Manning and Floodman's rolodexes.

2007 Miami 5–7
2008 Miami 7–6
2009 Miami 9–4
2010 Miami 7–5
0-2 in bowl games.

Would take those kind of results in a heart beat here at KU but I still believe KU could do better. Shannon is still just 'eh' to me.

He wouldn't be my top pick

I'd be a lot more excited about his hiring on day 1 than I was for Baty or Weis though.

The thing about an 'eh' hire, is you might get a guy with a chip on his shoulder or who learned from past mistakes.

A lot of times the homerun hires best success is behind them and they're possibly more likely to rest on their laurels.

Belichick was an eh hire when New England hire him.
