It also depends on the distance you have from your neighbors.
Yeah, a lot depends on distance from neighbors, in Brookside, not much distance. If I have a couple windows open in my house, I can here my neighbor talking on the phone...lol.

Seems most of my neighbors are considerate enough not to fire up a chainsaw or mow before 8-9 am on the weekends. Now there are some neighbors a block away that seem to have an endless supply of fireworks and have no problem shooting them off weeks after the 4th. Usually someone calls the cops and they stop. They are from Tampa, so that pretty much explains their ignorance.

My laugh of the day.
I went to the Chicago River to check it out because today was the day it was dyed green for St. Patrick's Day. Shit ton of people around - and I was near a quiet area of the river.
Anyways, I ran in to a gay couple that lives in my building and they were with their dog. I walked over and said hello. One guy is Middle Eastern and the other guy is Black. A lot of people were walking by and the dog was as calm as can be. The Middle Eastern guy was holding the dog on a leash and these two White girls started to pet it. For some inexplicable reason the dog barked at a Black guy walking by.
Two Black women were walking close by and one told the Middle Eastern guy his dog is racist - but she said it in a form of Ebonics. I started laughing. Loud. They asked me what was funny. I didn't respond. The Black guy said, "Yeah - it's MY dog but he's only RACIST (he put emphasis on the word racist) towards ignorant Black women such as yourself".
WOW!
The two women had an oh no you didn't look on their faces but thankfully they walked away.
I'm still laughing thinking about it.

Here are some pics I took with my phone....

David's Grill on West Cermack called the police to report a homeless guy stole some ribs off the counter and is eating them outside in front of the restaurant.
While I am against anyone stealing anything, they called the cops on a guy who is/was obviously hungry? Really? FUCK THEM!
My hope is the cops told them to go fuck themselves too.
I'm wondering if David's felt it was worth a potential P.R. disaster/nightmare for them to call the cops before they called them.
They are getting BLASTED on "social media" right now. Rightfully so.

I woke up Saturday morning at 7am to banging on the roof. The same guys were back by 6:30am. I was like WTF. Felt bad for my neighbors but not much I could do.
The guys doing the work dont wanna work 9 to 6 and get home at 7 on saturday. If you start at 6:30 you can be home at 4 and still have a life.
More likely they want to start as early as possible so that if they get done by 4pm they can go start another project.

I would expect any good roofing contractor to have enough work that they run crews from sun up to sun down. If they can stop working at 4pm on a nice day then they aren't very good.

Yeah, no need for workers to have a life when they can have capitalism instead.

But don’t we both think workers should get to have a life?

For a hot minute I was excited that we were agreeing on something, but dang

We agree that two coach is an idiot.

Nobody's leaving a job on a late saturday afternoon/evening to go to another roofing job. Not when theres beer to drink, i mean....theyre roofers.

I just think you need a break. You've been beating that drum so hard it misy be exhausting.

You’re right, now I need a life too. With beers to drink and everything!

If anyone needs me, I’ll be at the satellite shack.

Dentist appt this morning.
Hygienist was a dood. Just weird but OK.
They have a new office. Sliding barn doors in private rooms. Cool.
Most uncomfortable chair ever. My neck and back started cramping as soon as I laid back.
The hoses and cables are a couple of feet too short. I had to bend my head around to get the water squirter in my mouth, same with the sucker outer thingie.
I have a horrible gag reflex and it was extra bad today.
But I got a Minions toothbrush, so not a total waste.

That’s a solid toothbrush.

My dentist randomly has like these massage chairs now that rub your back while they work in your mouth. It’s actually quite pleasant.

(The massage chair, not the mouth work itself)

Driving home tonight, middle of nowhere, through the sagebrush/desert. Out of nowhere we see what I can only assume/deduce was a shooting star. It was huge, super low to the ground (i mean at least it seemed so) and incredibly fast. Had a super bright green light in the center/underneath and two smaller yellow streaks flanking the green light.

But, heres the kicker, it moved north to south right across in front of us and then, zoomed back south to north about a 1/8th to 1/4 of the distance before fading out to nothing.

So what the fuck was it? My wife said maybe a drone...no way, the fucker was huge and moved way way to fast to be a drone but Ive also never seen a shooting star like that. Additionally, it wasn't visible long, but way longer thab a typical shooting star, long enough for me to point at it and it still be there.

I haven't had a bucket today....i have absolutely no idea what I saw. Odd.

I wish that they'd swoop down in a country lane
Late at night when I'm driving
Take me on board of their beautiful ship
Show me the world as I'd love to see it
I'd tell all my friends but they'd never believe me
They'd think that I'd finally lost it completely
I'd show them the stars and the meaning of life
They'd shut me away, but I'll be alright

Man, imagine what a good band Radiohead would have been if OK Computer was an outlying experimental album in a career otherwise defined by crunchy guitar rock.

Kid A can be like their side project that gets shelved and released years later as a curiosity.

Thom comes out and says, yeah I was kinda in a gloomy place back then lol but the last thing I’d want is to have my whole career sound like one big long bad mushroom trip, anyway check out this crunchy new guitar jam.
