Re: Tristan out
Lots of pick and roll. He starts up top a ton. KU will absolutely destroy them if they do solely pick and roll. It’s when he starts on the block that might be worrisome.
But 80% if the time, he’s starting on the 3 point line doing a pick and roll.

CB is the only one I can think of.
Jalen
Those were some nasty lineups...then maybe some Travis/Teahaunkey at the 4 but more sparingly?
Then we had Wiggs who woulda been a monster at the 4 but hardly did it, I guess cuz Perry Ellis.
Fast forward to this year, when the roster was specifically built for small ball but still spent much of the season feeding the post anyway

Look nothing alike.
They both have beards.
Are we sure Tanner hasn't left Rohan yet?

Well I mean primarily smaller lineups with an increased focus on perimeter shooting, which happened after The Mayor gave Bill a couple of face slaps and a literal sit down convo.ousdahl wrote: ↑Wed Mar 17, 2021 12:40 pmRemember in 06-08 with Brush at the 4?CrimsonNBlue wrote: ↑Wed Mar 17, 2021 12:24 pmI don't recall Marcus at the 5, but perhaps he was. Unless we get Mobley off the floor, this is just a spray-and-pray game from 3.CrimsonNBlue wrote: ↑Wed Mar 17, 2021 12:15 pmMobley's defense scares me more than his offense, so here we are possibly in a position where our perimeter guys need to knock down shots and be aggressive.NewtonHawk11 wrote: ↑Wed Mar 17, 2021 12:13 pm That’s assuming you can’t play Dave more than about 20 minutes.
I’m fine getting Dave worked on Saturday and getting his stamina up for Monday if they play USC.
KU is fortunate in that EW, Wichita State and Drake don’t have true big men that scare you, but Mobley does.
Focused play by Dave is also needed, of course. Would be great to get Mobley in foul trouble.

Re: Tristan out
Something we actually do know from Self. No. Lawrence has been the island for COVID+'s and the others have been in KC/Indy.
Re: Tristan out
Thanks for the response! I was unsure of when he last practiced with the players and if it might have a bearing on possible "contact tracing" issues.CrimsonNBlue wrote: ↑Wed Mar 17, 2021 12:53 pmSomething we actually do know from Self. Re: Tristan out
It was announced that he would be out of Big 12 on March 9, so Saturday would be about 11 days without being in contact with the team. Teammates need 7 days of negative tests to play on Saturday.Grandma wrote: ↑Wed Mar 17, 2021 12:59 pmThanks for the response! Re: Tristan out
Matt Tait broke it down in his latest:
March 9: David tests positive. Out for Big 12 tourney, needs 10 days to join bubble in Indy (March 19, Friday). Enaruna out of Big 12 tournament b/c of contact tracing (David's roommate).
March 12: Jalen tests positive. Needs 10 days to join bubble in Indy (March 22, Monday).
March 14: Enaruna tests positive. Needs 10 days to join bubble in Indy (March 24, Wednesday).

“I haven't focused on anything other than this game,” Self said. “And in this game we're focused on being without David and David is a bonus, as opposed to playing through David.
“How much we can utilize David remains to be seen just because of how he feels and his timing and all those things. So (we’re) not going to be able to count on him for a significant number of minutes I don't believe.”

Re: Tristan out
This tells me that Enaruna got it from Dave. This could also mean the rest of our roster isn’t in the clear yet either, as Covid can take some time to incubate.

Re: Tristan out
I don't think we are in the clear until the ball tips on Saturday.
The Jalen positive is scary b/c of how close he was with everyone for 2 days in KC. So far so good, though.
Re: Tristan out
Anyone know if UTEP has had any recent outbreaks?
Re: Tristan out
So it's just 10 days after you test positive? Not a set number of negative tests? Seems...odd.CrimsonNBlue wrote: ↑Wed Mar 17, 2021 1:16 pm Matt Tait broke it down in his latest:

Re: Tristan out
If it’s a set number of negative tests, it could be weeks or months until you get 7 in a row.
But isn’t the “10 days” metric used to determine when someone is no longer contagious after first symptoms? Does that apply to an initial positive test too?
