Disappointing but not at all surprising.

Re: More evidence that religious threads make you dum
The catholic church has a very very narrow belief of what is not a sin when it comes to sex. I don't agree with their stand at all. But I don't think it comes out of hatred or homophobia. I mean, jerking off is a sin, lustful thoughts are a sin, getting blowies from your wife is a sin, using birth control is a sin.
That's dumb, but it's not hateful. Basically anything other that a married heterosexual couple having consensual sex in a way that has the potential for making a baby is a sin. So I don't think including homosexual sex as a sin is being bigoted specifically.
I'm more bothered by the assertion that homosexuality is a choice. That to me is something much harder to defend. I mean, heterosexuality isn't a choice or at least it didn't feel like one to me. And even if you tried to argue that it's not something you're born with...I think it's pretty clearly not a choice in the same why "steak or chicken" is a choice.
So, I'm disappointed by that part.

Holy fuck for me is that their "flock" allows them to do shit like this and they just sit back and eat it up and take it all in.
The 4 clowns sitting up there with him should all be considered accessories - or at least enablers.
Holy fuck for me is the fact that First Baptist Church of Hammond had a history of sick fuck clergy men before Schapp and their congregants continued to attend the church knowing this.
Look it up. It's extremely disturbing.

I don't know how they watched that with a straight face.

Especially when you consider the general makeup of their clergy. There are a lot of homosexual priests in the church; more than will ever admit it due to the stance of the organization that they serve. This most recent Pope has made some strides towards recognizing facts but this was a step in the wrong direction.PhDhawk wrote: ↑Mon Mar 15, 2021 1:20 pm The catholic church has a very very narrow belief of what is not a sin when it comes to sex. Look at the eyes of the guy in the back left of the video. Dumbfounded followed by looking out into the crowd like "is everyone else as horrified by this as I am?!?"
That dude has gone completely off the rails and has clearly been allowed to run amok with unchecked power. It doesn't surprise me at all to see that type of kook is now behind bars for abusing a teenage girl. The ability of some to believe all these lunatic conspiracies about Dem child predators while handing their children over to the Church, organizers of one of the largest pedophilia rings in the world, to be abused by their church elders has been one of the hardest things for me to wrap my brain around in these past few years.

I'll respect people on here and won't say what I want to say because it's Easter but tomorrow I am going to point out how hypocritical many of you are.
Happy Easter!

tbh, i don’t really have an issue with it being taught, so long as it isn’t equated with science
if they want to cover it, it should go in a philosophy or mythology course
it should not be taught as any sort of “equal but different” alternative to evolution (because it isn’t)
