Re: Royals
Thought exact same. This has very 2013 vibes. Team on the brink of contention.
Think just need a bit more pitching depth in rotation, but that’s coming.
Lineup is top notch.
A top 10 MLB lineup, I’d say.

Re: Royals
That's a very 2016 Royals fan thing to say.

The pen will have a say in what nostalgia we enjoy. Excited to see it.

Just want to be in a position where we are buyers. Responsible buyers.NewtonHawk11 wrote: ↑Wed Mar 17, 2021 12:37 pmThought exact same. This has very 2013 vibes. Team on the brink of contention.

The talent is there with maturity. Witt is a throwback player. Just hoping he is more Brett than Hurdle

I heard a comparison to a young Barry Bonds.
As I've said for a couple years now, Kansas City is currently Mahomes drunk.

Re: Royals
We aren’t drawing into an inside straight though. We have two high card pairs and not a lot of other face cards showing on the river. All in.
Re: Royals
Obviously a small sample size, but this has to be the first time the team has indicated they are eager to bring someone up, and 75% of the fans are begging the team to give the player more time in the minors.

Lol. We found 154 of nicky’s family and friends.

Yount might have had a Chris Colon trajectory with some of those folks.

Re: Royals
Salvy 4 year deal. Team option. Average of 20.5M per year.

Re: Royals
Yikes, why? Really high for an aging catcher. I love Salvy, and he got screwed on his earlier contract, but extending him four years at $20mm+ per seems like a bad move.NewtonHawk11 wrote: ↑Sun Mar 21, 2021 1:38 pm Salvy 4 year deal. Team option. Average of 20.5M per year.

Re: Royals
Basically matched Yadier Molina’s deal prior to this last deal. He was 3/60 for years 35-37 and Cards didn’t mind. Molina is a HOF obviously, but Salvy has been good when healthy.
See a lot of DH in his future when Soler leaves.

Re: Royals
Cards have more money to spend, and Yadi is a freak of nature. Salvy been having health issue and is a big guy to squat for 140 games a season. Also, don't want to be spending $20mm for a DH.
