I’m on bored with all of this.

I think much of the relax/explore/recharge could be accomplished in any good natural environment. Try to find a state park or something that can offer a little outdoor solitude. Turn off your phone for a couple hours and just walk through the woods. Skip rocks across a creek. Throw pine cones at a stump. Listen to birds chirp. Watch a squirrel stash nuts. Just get out and observe nature in a way that can hopefully make the unbearable weight of the human experience a little more bearable yet.

I think it's funny that it's within about 10 miles of Noah's Ark Encounter.

High rise about 6 blocks away.
Wellness check.
Cops found dead person with supposedly a lot of "bomb making materials" in the apartment.
Not clear if there was an actual bomb - and if it was a "set up".
Shit ton of cops, ambulances, bomb squad, etc.
I'm heading over there now but my guess is there isn't too much to see anymore.

Somewhat conflicting stories....
When I was there the building had NOT been evacuated - other than the 6th, 7th, and 8th floors of the "lofts".

This is our biggest dick in the city female Mayor.....

Then yesterday she dropped this video....
The same day two cops were shot and an innocent 12 year old girl died from her gunshot wound/s.

This was in the "good part" of Chicago last night in pretty much one of the tourist "hot spots".
Thoughtful me can come up with a dozen reasons why.
Ignorant me can come up with a dozen reasons why.
Many other people can and will tell you many reasons why and yet the powers that be that "run" our city and are responsible for keeping it safe - can't (or won't) stop it.
Which brings me to the 2024 election. If Trump, DeSantis, Ramaswamy, whatever Pub, said he/she will demand something better be done and will do everything in their power to get it done, and can convince me it will/would happen - they just MIGHT get my vote.

So fucking sad.

Was very surprised when the Dems chose Chicago for their '24 convention recently, but apparently it's because they want a large presence in the upper midwest, because Wisconsin and Michigan are traditionally battleground states.

What could possibly go wrong?

From Saturday night.

This kind of gives you an idea of what's going on (or maybe I should say NOT going on) in regards to our city's police force. Click on the photo.

The ugly side of what we have created with the political turmoil and excuses being made for looting and rioting in recent years

So what you are saying is that trump, Josh Hawley, the proud boys, MTG and the Keebler elf also known as Lindsey Graham are responsible for inspiring this? Well there is a case to be made for that Randall.

I could be wrong but fwiw, I believe that was from the looting/s in 2020.
Thus, the every grocery store looks like this, George Floyd, and couldn't get tissue 2 months ago references.
Regardless of when it was, indeed it is a really sad scene.

The Keebler elf has a long history of controversy. Remember when they changed the m&m's to a generic chocolate in the chocolate chip cookies? Turned this country upside down

I work with and know many people who have kids in Chicago schools. Their kids want to go to a basketball game to see their friend/s play, these are the assholes surrounding them.
The moral of the story is what? I honestly don't know.

Walmart closing a bunch of locations and pulling out of Chicago. Sited the locations not being profitable and losing tens of millions of dollars. Wonder why it wouldn't be profitable in such a populated area..
