Talking shows interest, no?
I will believe him, but I’m surprised.

Way different level.
Really makes me wonder just how bad it is going out on the recruiting trail if this is the moves they're thinking need to be made...

If anyone ever wondered just how big of an influence Adidas (or Nike) has on which recruits end up coming to Kansas (or any school ftm), i think the last year or 2 has been eye opening.
Not everything requires a forced narrative.

The only guy left on the recruiting trial is TyTy, who we are pursuing. We also have 0 scholarships available.

We'd have to have several more guys leave to have room for both him and TyTy. Honestly, the fact that he is choosing soon makes me believe it is not going to be Kansas since we don't have a spot for him right now.

I'm not sure why we do this nearly every offseason, but Bill has never let the scholarship situation get in the way of a player he wants. As we are all aware, scholarships are a one year deal and he has no problem breaking eggs to make the omelet.

This. In the next seven to 10 days we will start to see roster turnover.

Great analogy, btw even though now I am hungry.

I didn't realize until this morning that next year is the last in Bill's deal.

The NCAA will give us a postseason ban and reprimand. The new AD will then give Bill a 5 year extension. The KC Star Editorial Board will publish a poorly written hate column about it.

unless we actually do have a spot and it just hasn’t been announced yet

someone could’ve easily already made their decision about transferring

Yeah. It's not ideal by any means. But as soon as AD is selected (Which Bill will have a ton of influence on) he'll sign a deal and all will be "fine"

KC Star has been a real ass pain for all local schools. They seem to push negative stories when truthfully positives sell. I didn’t read any stories Tuesday. And I avoid the nasty and snarky Mellingeresque work. Joe Po was the last guy I read religiously there.

Mellinger is fine, in my eyes.. He doesn't have hit pieces except for when Jeff Long is a complete idiot and he keeps things pretty even and is as approachable to any in that position. Gregorian is the same. They have some good beat writers and they do a great job covering the local areas. Bedore and Newell cover KU the best out of anyone.

The editor, Rosen, though is an ass. He's been the biggest prick with everything.

I really don't like Rosen, but I was only referring to the KC Star Editorial Board, which is a weird makeup of people that I think even makes the Star's sports staff uncomfortable when they dig into sports with their 3 paragraph long hit pieces.

I remember one time going back and forth with Mellinger on twitter about it. (Think we may have taken it to DMs) but he basically said that him or anybody at the Star has any control over that editorial board and that what they often write about is controversial and they basically stay away from it all.

Rosen is the guy who doesn't stay away from it. He embraces it. It gives him clicks, interest and more people conversing with his staff. That's why he does it.

I don't think it'll happen, but retirement (at least from coaching) wouldn't completely shock me.

I could maybe see him in an NBA front office type position.
