Would you be on the Jury?
Re: Would you be on the Jury?
Chauvin is going to prison (or at least I bet it's a 99% certainty). Manslaughter is more likely to stick. Pretty hard to prove it was murder.

Hopefully no one will riot, but I expect the BLM folks will be unhappy with the manslaughter charge.

Re: Would you be on the Jury?
Right. The common ground that I think everyone needs to start off at is that we don't want dead cops and we don't want police confrontations with unarmed citizens resulting in citizen death. One side needs to stop discounting police reform and the other side needs to value the safety of police more and be cognizant of the danger the general public can create.
We'll get nowhere if one side is ACAB and the other side is "Do what you're told!"

10 long, hard years in and out of the infirmary and segregation.
That first one is going to hurt, a lot.

Why I think the punishment will fit the crime.

I wish I were joking, but how could you not see this? They BLM Antifa folks were rioting after Biden won the election. They will find some excuse to riot again. It will probably be, "We were not satisfied with manslaughter... or we are not happy the other 3 officers got off." But the really tragic part is, instead of rounding up these terrorists, we just glorify them in the news.TraditionKU wrote: ↑Fri Apr 02, 2021 1:25 pmlol...you and mich both predicted riots regardless of the outcome
or, was that just one of your “jokes”?

It already happened, why would it not happen again?

No we don't.
BLM peaceful protestors are 'glorified' as in their leaders featured and their marches filmed.
The rioting, as in property damage or attacks on police, is not glorified, but it is also featured.

Re: Would you be on the Jury?
1st clip Cuomo made a mistake with the word 'peaceful'. Protests don't have to be polite.
2nd clip isn't glorifying anything. It's reporting what happened.
I think overwhelmingly the message has been violent protests are bad.

Maybe some of you consider calling in the national guard in Philadelphia and taking over an entire city block of Seattle as "peaceful", but I do not. Going by that logic, the Capitol riot was "mostly peaceful."

Re: Would you be on the Jury?
There are demonstrations that are peaceful.
And there is looting and violence.
These are separate things - though one can lead to another ( and include - gasp - some of the same participants ).
Riots aren't glorified in the news as much as it seems you want it to be.
It's reported. They use the word violent. Or they report looting.
