Intrigued to see what kind of banging Curry can do when physicality is needed.

I'm optimistic, but would feel a lot better if we could get Marcus back. I'm not as concerned about the Ochai loss, he basically shot 3s (very streakily) and played solid defense. The defense of Garrett and his ability to drive are big losses.

We have good pieces though. Yesufu looked like the best player on the court every game that he started, including the USC game (yes, Mobley is a better pro prospect, but that's not the metric). He can take Ochai's scoring load, but it would be best to have him out there with Harris so we can have two guys that are super quick.

And then Jalen and Dave can score and rebound. Braun needs to improve his shooting, but he can get a lot of really good looks given he's out there with those other guys.

Martin and Thompson are really good scorers off the bench and give a different look.

If we don't add anyone and lose both Ochai and Marcus, I think those seven would get the bulk of the minutes, and I think that's a top ten team.

While this is generally gonna be true, I can at least think of a good 40 pounds of reasons why this dude could be an upgrade over our current depth at the 5

I don't understand on counting on anything from Martin.

Not saying it can't happen, but to expect it is a level of optimism I could never get to.

the question you also have to ask, though, is how much faith you got in Make-A-Wish?

We assume Dave plays what, 29 mpg? You thinking Clemence or Curry or, God forbid, Lightfoot gets those other minutes? Or that Martin gets them but doesn't do much?

I’m still baffled by the folks who don’t think we need Bishop.

Totally bizarre.

What position does he play? He's a perfect small-ball 5 man. But big men are kind of loaded now with Mac, Curry, Martin and even Lightfoot.

If he plays the 4, you have to shoot it well. 2 post hi-low offense is not the play.

I think the minutes split between Martin and Lightfoot as I would think a one year "grad" transfer gets the nod over a juco guy. I hope Clemence is good enough to get in there, though.

I just don't think we can count on Martin doing much, but, again, not saying it can't happen!

I sincerely believe that if Mitch Lightfoot played 4 years of D2 basketball, that he would be one of the 10 best players in D2, if not better. He was around the 130th ranked recruit in the entire country, a full 6'8" and in great shape. Martin is one of the 5 best players in D2, so that's kind of what we are dealing with for reference.

I'd rather have Garrison Brooks. Four year Carolina starter just hit the portal. Yes, please.

Undersized 5 with no jumpshot and even less of a back to the basket game. What does he provide that Lightfoot doesn't?

Just because he was a starter on a top 20 team doesn't make him a must have.

By the way you describe him, Bishop seems like a player from a different era. I don't think the Jamari comparisons are that far off.

No thanks.

The only thing he brings is an above the rim attitude. He dunks everything. This team needs shooters over anything else right now.
