I would take Dan Lanning in a second. Young successful smart upcoming DC. Interesting is Sark UT new head coach put full course press on to get him away from UGA and it didn't happen. I hear he is actually interested in the job. Give it to him. Worse case is he does so well five years from now someone steals him

Yes it is. This would be a good hire when you think of GILL, Weis and Beaty.

Beaty and Jones are also stud recruiters.

I think you’re underestimating what kind of losing has shown to be done here.

If the worst case scenario is that this guy will do well enough to get a better job, he’d be hired by now.

Our last coach that left here and received a FBS offer, yet alone P5 offer was Glen Mason.

Mason was the last coach that left here and didn’t need to be monitored with a Geiger counter for five years.

Glen Mason days. It just seemed we could get to bowl games so easily then. . . .

Beaty a stud recruiter??? Says who?? Oh the connections to Texas which you must have believed.

This is Beaty the year before KU hired him. You have to go down the list, past like five other coaches from Texas A&M before you get to stud Beaty.

No Beaty is not stud recruiter. And he wasn't an ace offensive coach.

I am well aware of what kind of losing has been shown.

Lanning is stud recruiter and a ace defensive coach.

This is the first name linked to the HC job that I have liked.

Odd in you would rather have Jones?

List for me of names mentioned is still:
Leipold
Monken

Jones
Lanning

Leipold??????????? Went down that road with Gill. You think that is the preferred road.
I believe this is worst case scenario. If you just analyze the other HC's in the Big 12 vs Leipold he will be over matched.

Monken probably would do ok. I thought we should have hired instead of Les. If I remember correctly
his name was brought up then. For sure the safest hire. What he does at ARMY with the players he has is amazing. Could he get KU to bowl games? Sure. Any chance we have Magic Mangino year? Not likely

Jones????? Why???? Cause the players want him?? No chance and for sure not getting us out of our losing ways.

Lanning.. The players that want Jones to be coach will love Lanning. Get Lanning keep Jones great move. Ace Defensive coach which combined with a good OC should get us to winning football

That there are a many and a lot worse scenarios possible than our next head coach being successful, no matter who we hire, save for like Saban or Dabo.

If we're doing positive hypos, how about if Lanning comes here, wins a handful of bowl games, becomes a hero and then leaves us for Mizzou.

My fault. I was trying to lead you to the hiring of Dan Lanning.

Your right there are many and a lot worse scenarios if we do not hire Dan Lanning.

My worst case scenario was to get you thinking if this is the worst case I am all for Dan Lanning

We're still a little off--it's absolutely possible that Lanning could come here and lose close to 40 games over 4 seasons.

Or, god help us, lie to Goff about his past and we find out he creeped on coeds at his past job.

Those are about the worst possible scenarios.

You and I both know that KU AD Jeff Long just hired his buddy Les Miles without doing his due diligence
back ground check which will never happen again.

The phrase Worst case scenario was used to influence your opinion on Dan Lanning not for you to start the great worse case scenario hunt

Wouldn't mind any sort of news in just rumors one way or the other regarding the search.

Still believe it is Leipold or Monken. My guess would be that in-person interviews are taking place this week.

Well yeah, for an outside hire. Flashback to Matt Tait percentage wheels....

Leipold 30%
Monken 30%
Jones 25%
Other 15%
