21-22 lineup
Re: 21-22 lineup
And I know Wilson is a redshirt frosh - but he was busted for much of that first year.
And he outperformed comparable positioned 5 star players Marcus Bagley, Isaiah Jackson, Jaden Springer, Greg Brown.

Re: 21-22 lineup
The Boschee thing does actually move the needle for me a little.
I think he knows whether or not Cam has a chance to contribute here, and I don't think he would send him here if he didn't think he could.

Re: 21-22 lineup
I expect him to be ready for Mitch minutes, but also another inch, an extra 25 pounds, maybe even a jumper, and perhaps most importantly of all, inked.
Re: 21-22 lineup
I like your optimism?
DMac is starting, and his 23 minutes a game will prob only go up. I highly doubt he and Cam will play at the same time.
Mitch logged 10 minutes a game last year, while we were desperate for frontcourt depth, and even then there were times we couldn’t even keep him on the floor.
If we can get that much out of a D2 transfer, and be able to hold his ground without promptly getting punked, allsome.

Re: 21-22 lineup
Who the heck played that last 7 minutes a game at center? It had to have been Jalen and Tristan, right? Did we really play that much teeny ball?

DMac definitely getting all the minutes he can handle...but I don't think Cam was brought here strictly as a 5. Unfortunately (maybe) i envision a scenario with him playing significant minutes alongside DMac.
I doubt both of Wilson and Ochai return. I think there's a better chance of having neither than there is of having both but that's just a wild guess. I think Ochai will do very well at NBA workouts relative to what he will be drafted to do at the next level.

Re: 21-22 lineup
It has been 5 seasons since we ran a two big offense. It's over.
Re: 21-22 lineup
I know no one wants to hear it, but Ted Owens ran a double high post offense. With the right personnel, it is best offense I have seen.

Apparently not based on the guys we're bringing in.CrimsonNBlue wrote: ↑Wed Apr 14, 2021 6:19 pm It has been 5 seasons since we ran a two big offense. It's over.
Self tried to do it (and failed) in several of those seasons....so it may have been more of a roster issue and not a choice based on his preference of style.

(whispers) and it’s been longer than that since we ran the high-lowCrimsonNBlue wrote: ↑Wed Apr 14, 2021 6:19 pm It has been 5 seasons since we ran a two big offense. It's over.
Re: 21-22 lineup
The one way we’d run “two bigs” is if we had some super talented prototypical stretch 4, and I’m not sure a D2 transfer and a juco guy are that...

A 1 seed and Final FourBasketballJayhawk wrote: ↑Wed Apr 14, 2021 6:33 pmApparently not based on the guys we're bringing in.CrimsonNBlue wrote: ↑Wed Apr 14, 2021 6:19 pm It has been 5 seasons since we ran a two big offense. It's over.

A 1 seed
A consensus #1 overall team with a canceled tournament
A 3 seed
A 4 seed
We also are not bringing in an old school power forward. How many time does Self have to acknowledge that we are a 4 perimeter offense team and a 4 player switching defense team until we just give this outdated 2-big nonsense up as fans?

Re: 21-22 lineup
It has been like 10 seasons in a row now where we have to hear commentators say some nonsense like: "Bill Self is not running his traditional and patented High-Low offense this season."jfish26 wrote: ↑Wed Apr 14, 2021 6:35 pm(whispers) and it’s been longer than that since we ran the high-lowCrimsonNBlue wrote: ↑Wed Apr 14, 2021 6:19 pm It has been 5 seasons since we ran a two big offense. Re: 21-22 lineup
We started off this year and last year trying to run 2 big offenses.

I have no clue what you are watching. The Fred Hoiberg chat was 6+ years ago.BasketballJayhawk wrote: ↑Wed Apr 14, 2021 6:48 pm We started off this year and last year trying to run 2 big offenses.
Re: 21-22 lineup
We tried to play Dok and SDS. We tried to play DMac and Mitch. You don't remember that?CrimsonNBlue wrote: ↑Wed Apr 14, 2021 6:52 pmI have no clue what you are watching. Re: 21-22 lineup
we even played Dok and Dmac for a game too, but it's not like those are the lineups we settled into for the season
