Re: Offensive and Defensive Coordinators
At Russell’s in home visit it was with Chevis and Carson Cramer. Sounds like Les, Chevis, Lindsay, Cramer, Hull and Vollmer are hitting the road.
Lindsay already made an offer to a dual threat QB from Alabama who boasts offers from Bama, LSU, Auburn, etc.

KU staff at Free State today. Apparently they got a receiver there that is committed to kstate, but they are going at him hard, and there is word he will likely back out of commitment there and go with KU. I think he's a 3 star guy. Garber is his name.

Miles is personally reaching out to in-state kids. He wasn’t joking around about wanting to own in-state recruiting.
See a lot of KS kids being offered preferred walk on scholarships.

A ton of kids. KU has the perfect opportunity to pounce right now with kstate not having a coach. They are definitely doing their best to do that.holidaysmore wrote: ↑Wed Dec 05, 2018 12:34 pm See a lot of KS kids being offered preferred walk on scholarships.

DB who played in the SEC, in the NFL, coached on the SEC and was Recruiter of the Year in the MAC...any DC that wouldn't be happy with that isn't bright to find Kansas on the map.

Keenan Garber. 3 star athlete. Apparently doing an official visit this weekend. Would be a nice weekend to get Russell and Garber.NewtonHawk11 wrote: ↑Wed Dec 05, 2018 12:00 pm KU staff at Free State today. Re: Offensive and Defensive Coordinators
Jumping in on an Auburn target:
The Jayhawks wasted little time jumping into the recruitment of the No. 5-ranked player in the state of Alabama and No. 4-ranked dual threat quarterback on the board for the class of 2019.
While at Auburn, Chip Lindsey was the primary recruiter of Robby Ashford, four-star quarterback and top-150-ranked player in the country fro the class of 2020. Lindsey, of course, has heavy ties to the Alabama-area at the high school level, and it's worth noting Ashford, who is 6 foot 4, 210 pounds, has three Crystal Ball picks to Auburn.
Officially announced as new KU offensive coordinator on Tuesday, Lindsey mentioned in an interview with Voice of the Jayhawks Brian Hanni that he would ideally like to bring in a dual-threat quarterback to run the offense. At the time, of course, he was still working on sorting through the current roster, so it is possible he could end up sticking with Carter Stanley, who will be a senior if he does not transfer, or Miles Kendrick, who redshirted last season and will be a sophomore.
Ashford reported his KU offer on Tuesday.
New scholarship offer and PWO invitations in December:
Valerian Agbaw — Offered
Agbaw, a three-star athlete from Powder Springs, Georgia, reported his KU offer back on the evening of Dec. 4. He is being recruited by defensive backs coach Chevis Jackson, who has ties to Georgia. He will be making a visit to KU on Dec. 14. Agbaw is the No. 151-ranked athlete in the class of 2019 and is listed at 5 foot 11, 185 pounds.
Ty Baker — PWO
Baker reported a PWO invitation back on Dec. 4. Baker is a pro-style quarterback from Independence, Missouri. He's in the class of 2019 and has interest from Missouri and Oklahoma State, among other schools. Baker is listed at 6 foot 2 1/2 and 193 pounds.
Keaton Ricke — PWO
Ricke received a PWO invitation on Dec. 3. He plays for Bishop Carroll in Wichita and is listed at 6 foot 5, 235 pounds. His film would suggest he could play some fullback or tight end, but his best spot would likely be on the defensive line. He played both ways in high school and was an honorable mention as one of the top 100 seniors in the state, per one outlet.
Dylan Downing — PWO
Downing reported his PWO invitation to KU back on Dec. 2. He's an inside linebacker from Northeast Kansas in the class of 2019 and is listed at 6 foot 1, 225 pounds. Downing has interest from Kansas State and plenty of other schools outside of the state. The Bishop-Miege product has won state championships and was named the defensive player of the year in the state according to one outlet.
Free State visits:
Kansas could be looking to bring some of its Free State targets on campus this weekend and/or next, a source told 247Sports. Among some of the most talented players available in the state are 2020 offensive tackle Turner Corcoran, a four-star lineman in the class of 2020, and Jax Dineen, a 3-star fullback (the nation's No. 2 fullback, per the 247Sports Compoiste) in the class of 2019.
Another player who has seen some buzz around his name is Keenan Garber, who is committed to K-State right now. Of course, the K-State situation is one to watch because of the retirement of K-State coach Bill Snyder. That situation will be one to monitor as long as the coaching search progresses.
The top uncommitted in-state recruit:
Jayden Russell hosted an in-home visit with KU offensive quality control assistant Carson Cramer and defensive backs coach Chevis Jackson. The Jayhawks have ramped up the attention they've shown the St. Thomas Aquinas safety — a 3-star prospect at that — and one would have to consider him extremely high up on the Jayhawks' board.
Russell took an official visit to KU last weekend and attended the Stanford game. On Twitter, there are currently at least 12 current and former KU staff members following him, in addition to at least five KU athletes.
Jackson's speedy hiring was crucial for the Jayhawks to continue to build up their connection with Russell, who grew up an LSU fan and a fan of Miles. Phog.net has logged a Crystal Ball pick for Russell to Kansas.

This is great info thanks for sharing. I really want to know who the rest of the staff is quickly so they can start helping recruit more before the signing period.

Re: Offensive and Defensive Coordinators
To be honest, he kind of has to. With the new signing date of December and then the original date in February, you have to act quick as most kids want to sign in December. Should be interesting to see if any kids sign in December, or if Miles is going to work them all the way into February.

I think 4 wins next season is a reasonable goal. 6 is best case scenario

I think 6 wins is a stretch goal but not a pipedream. We should have won 5 this season.

6 is a pipe dream. Hell, 4 or 5 might be too. We have major depth issues next season.
