Brad Keller, 4 starts, 12 innings. Not going to cut it.

5 Walks. In an inning. What is it with Kansas City teams playing against Tampa Bay?

Yeah. And, being a pitcher, there's a reasonable chance he's broken.

Which sucks!

But...if you'd have told me a month ago that, on this date, the Royals would be 9-7 and in first place, with awful-to-zero contributions so far from Mondesi, Soler, Dozier, Isbel, Witt and Keller...I'd have thought you were high.

Weather definitely a factor the last two; but it impacts the team from Florida less somehow. That always pisses me off.

Regardless of Royals small ball, it still feels weird to see a squeeze on the first pitch in the ninth. Dat wat speed do

Damn, that walkoff from Salvy looked so much like the Wild Card game walkoff

That Salvy hit was nearly a mirror of the WC game

I’ve never had emotions like that game. 2008 KU champs, 2020 Super Bowl, 2015 WS, nothing compares to what i felt seeing that game. Baseball is special.

I am more emotionally invested in KUBB and have been fortunate to see a lot of great events--the WC game is the second best/most satisfying game I have been to only behind Memphis 2008.

Agree on baseball being able to really get the heart pounding.

I probably care less about the Royals success compared to KU BBall, and maybe the Chiefs, but I in my life had never seen a Royals playoff game, when I at least remember Montana and the Chiefs, and of course some of the best Roi teams.

I was in a unique position being in grad school that I saw nearly every Royals game that year. I had never seen them have an October game (even tho I think that game was like Sept 29). I also had a unique connection to the team, as I never knew my father, and my grandfather, who died in 2002, was my father figure. He literally listened to every game on the radio, and some of my most fond memories was shagging balls he was slugging in August with the 1990s 100 loss Royals losing only 3-7 on the radio. Baseball was always that thing that connected me to my past. But honestly, like I watch the 2008 UNC game with a little more emotional than the Memphis game, that 2014 WC will likely be the sports game that I have the most emotion with, no matter what happens.
