Older, but I'd add:
Dead Poet's Society
Scent of a Woman
Good Will Hunting
A Few Good Men
Kinda like the Fight Club idea. Wonder if/when he'd get it.

both Ace Ventura’s
the original and remake of True Grit
Big Labowski
Clerks and Clerks 2
We Were Soldiers
the Lethal Weapon series

Fun fact, one of Kevin Smith's companies was my first client. I used to be very good friends with Jason's wife.

I think some of the suggestions may not be appropriate for 13. Perhaps at 16? The so-called Spaghetti Westerns would be great; McKenna’s Gold, Great Escape, Stalag 17 are good “old” movies. He has to have seen Princess Bride by now.

Skip ahead to the Subzero Scorpion fight with 20 minutes left.

Thats what we came for.

Also lol at the forced opening for a sequel.
