No one is being forced to return to the office but I feel getting vaccinated should be a personal choice and I feel it sets the company up for some possible legal issues. Maybe not. Thankfully I don't have to know.
It’s the same thing as indoor smoking and just as politicized. Did you have mixed feelings when your employer banned indoor smoking? Maybe you aren’t old enough to remember those days. Masks are, for all intents and purposes, for the protection of the other people occupying a confined space, same as a ban on indoor smoking. There is really no equivocation around this, until we can demonstrate herd immunity.

Remember it was liability based on running a workplace full of Occupational Health and Safety issues is what caused airlines and restaurants/bars to begin banning smoking. They are the ones who will lead here also

Oh please. Spare me the bs. The goal here isnt to require masks indefinitely.

Also, i do like no smoking everywhere but i kinda miss the smoky taverns. Thats just nostalgia talking there though.

Check - I am a full time glasses wearer
Check - I walk four miles a day
Check - I ref HS soccer
Check - I coach youth hockey
Check - Full time role model to the young people.

I suppose if all you do is sit on the social media's all day spewing propaganda you probably don't care.

Feel terrible for any kid who has MICH as a role model. That kid is fucked for life.

Totally get it. Being on the right side of history while shunning racists, sexists, misogynists, xenophobes and proud boys is terrible example for kids.

Probably better off telling them to be anti-mask, anti-vax and to justify police killings.

Better off teaching your kids that if someone differs with them on a topic that the best thing to do is to immediately insult and label them.

I only do that to select people. You know, the ones that are racists, sexists........

Ah forget it, you'll never be able to grasp this.

I ran my grandsons soccer practice last night. Not one time did " racists, sexists, misogynists, xenophobes and proud boys, anti-mask, anti-vax and to justify police killings" enter in to the practice plan. Not once did it come up. Maybe I did it wrong.

My statement above is solidified - specifically the label part.

You're right. I have no time or sympathy for those people. I'm sorry that you do.

Clearly not true, but keep on being you.

Cascadia wrote: Wed Apr 21, 2021 11:29 am I just don’t understand why more than one thing can’t be true

1. It’s true that the victim in this shooting was the aggressor.

2. It’s true that the victim was trying to cause harm (maybe kill, we don’t know intent) another human

3. It’s true that the police officer likely acted accordingly and justifiably (I don’t know their policies) by firing his weapon.

4. It’s true that this situation could have ended without the loss of a life.
I believe all of this to be true.

I would add where we are going to disagree. When the situation is that a person is in the middle of attempting to cause death or great bodily harm, then that person can absolutely expect a consequence of lethal force to be used against him or her. That's, generally, the legal standard, and I do think it is the right and good public policy.

I used to go to the gym all the time, but as I got older, I hated it more and more. Some people are just slobs and profusely sweat and don't clean up the equipment. I couldn't take it anymore, so I quit going. When COVID hit, I bought a used treadmill from my younger brother and a bowflex and some dumbbells.
Love going downstairs to get a quick workout whenever I want and don't have to clean up after other people.

As if we didn't know enough about MICH to wonder what he's like in real life.

This honestly sounds like something a 23 year old with no life experience would say.

I do enjoy a light jog outdoors (weather permitting), but it's also harder on my knees and feet, so I generally use the treadmill.
