Absolute gold here.........
When you think that everyone else is a kook then you might just be the kook.
For sure.

I definitely think she is a kook, but also probably more than a little influenced by the Clintons being friends with her rapist.

Why "news" stations give people like her a platform is mind boggling.

My first visit to LA happened to fall at the exact time that OJ Simpson was riding around town in the back of a white Bronco so my view of LA may be a bit jaded. In general I found it to have a far higher percentage of people who were self absorbed and too motivated by appearance and money. My Midwestern mentality found it to be an grossly self absorbed community in general. So I don't hate California; it just does not appeal to me as a place to live at all. Outside of the weather, it's not for me at all.

Why FoxNews now gives her a platform is easily understandable. She is relatively normal on the scale of their guests and on-air personalities.

I've always said this, and it is 100% truthful: I will consider moving back to LA when I can afford a helicopter.

I can't imagine wasting such a large portion of my life in transit to get places. I work 13 miles from my house in the heart of our downtown area and it takes me maybe 15 minutes to get there. I can't imagine a) how much my house would cost in LA and b) how long it would take to drive 13 miles to work. Fuck that. No weather is that nice.

It's absolute insanity. At least in New York, and to a moderately-lesser degree Chicago and San Francisco, all the cool shit is largely in one place.

Was going to post something similar. Basically, LA is the shit stain on an otherwise really nice place to live/play.

Not sure is this is some East Coast bias thing or if you had a bad personal experience, but LA is one of the 5 worst cities in the US where SF is one of the 5 best cities in the US.

I’m trying to understand PhD’s irrational hate of the Bay Area. Did you try to go see the GG Bridge in shorts and tank top in July and freeze yourself? Did someone from Berkeley or Stanford scoop you??

Which, fair. That probably is the worst aspect of the Bay Area

I actually commented this morning that as much as I don't care for her and her views and ideas, I somewhat feel sorry for her. She was born in to lunacy and has been stuck in it her entire life.
Now of course that doesn't mean she couldn't have changed her ways during her 47 years on this planet but I think she feels she wouldn't be relevant if she did - so that's the primary reason why she hasn't.

multiple and frequent.

Of all the bad professional relationships I've had in my life, the majority are with people from the Bay area. Mind you, that's way way way overrepresented given the fact that I've never lived or worked there.

Israel is coming in second, with 2 assholes outta the 2 people I know from there. But the Bay area has a much higher sample size, but almost as bad results.

The bay area could be fine. The people from there are the absolute worst.

I've only had a bad experience with one person from LA.

My hatred is rational.

If God gave america an enema, it would be in "the bay area". The literal and figurative asshole of this fine country.

Israeli culture takes some getting used to. They're efficient and don't have time for niceties and politeness. I like it and wish we could be more like that.

Then there's the arrogance part. I think of Israelis as playfully arrogant, as opposed to Russians, who tend to be just obnoxiously arrogant.

All very gross generalizations of course about people that I have spent a lot of time with and/or are related to.

Re: LA in particular but a lot of other Merican cities too, wasn’t much of the suburban sprawl correlated with the car industry, and everyone having personal transportation vs just putting shit in a central place and/or investing in public transport? Or something
