Does anyone know what Leipold's staff looked like at Whitewater or Buffalo? Curious if he kept most of the staff together during the move to Buffalo. Curious if he would bring most/all his staff here. I know people like some of the current staff, as do I, but I think if he kept most of the staff from Whitewater, I hope he keeps them and brings them to Kansas. They would all be on the same page already and might make it easier to get his plan in place.

Any time you jump up to P5, you do a national search for the staff. Will probably be a combo of Buffalo, Kansas, and elsewhere for 2022. I would imagine that the 2021 staff could have a fair number of Les's staff on it considering the timeframe.

His DC and OC have both been with him since Whitewater.

Interesting fact I found while looking up the Buffalo staff. The associate head coach/recruiting coordinator is Rob Ianello who was on Charlie Weis's staff at KU.

For some reason, that rings a bell and I recall that.

Would much rather keep Jones.

That is interest about Rob Ianello.

I just hope they make a hire and we can start cheering for that person to start making progress on the field. I am ready to see some winning football again. Or at least competitive football.

Ianello is a nerd. Complete nerd. Keep him away from here. He basically does same thing Eargle does.

Seeing some people mention on twitter and other places that Goff among the most detailed and prepared ADs that they've heard from in regards to coaching interviews.

Dodd is as plugged in as any national writer to KU.

Says the top 4 Monken, Leipold, Elko and Skip Holtz seems to be accurate. Monken and Leipold definite favorites. Decision within 24-48 hours.

It is very quiet, though. Seems only a very small handful of people know who it is going to be and their next move will be the public leak/announcement of the hiring.

Very very quiet. Same with AD search. And then the last like 12 hours of it were pretty loud.

Feel like Monken has closed the gap. Man. This is fun because either guy would be GREAT!

More rumors swirling that Monken might be the guy.

Because of my unique position in the alumni association, I am calling it for Monken. Which is to say I have no idea.

I’m second guessing my original pick of Leipold. More and more mo’ for Monken.

Yeah I personally think it's Monken and it's leaked this evening.

National guys starting to chime in a bit on twitter the last 12-18 hours, which means you know the decision is close.

Monken likely selected because he is the most prepared and detailed out of all of them. Leipold helps players overachieve, and that would have been great, just think Monken has a greater plan for Kansas and is probably promising a hell of a staff.

But again, I've been on Team Monken since the beginning. And I am pumped for it.

I started out as all in for Leipold. Leipold or bust but now hearing and reading everything about Monken I might be disappointed if they hire Leipold, lol. Either way, if they hire either guy KU, just maybe got a hire right for once.

I'm good with either Monken or Leipold. I would probably not watch a game until after the Skip Holtz era at KU concludes.

I've mentioned here and elsewhere, but I personally think Monken will run something similar to Coastal Carolina. When he was at Georgia Southern, he used option principles, but did it out of the spread and in the gun. Just used a ton of motion. My guess is he'll incorporate some of that into the offense, but I think he's more focused on being a CEO and not a play caller for either side of the ball.

I mean. Skip isn't going to get it, but he's not thaaatttt bad. 61-41 at LaTech and a 6-1 record in bowl games. But man, he hasn't been to a north state since 1998. Gross.
