My state's mask mandate is set to expire at the end of this month and I fully expect that it will not be renewed.NewtonHawk11 wrote: ↑Thu May 13, 2021 12:55 pm CDC announcing today that people fully vaccinated don't need to wear masks indoors or social distance unless a business requires it or on an airplane.

Seems like an attempt to reward vaccinating. I hope it works even if for only a handful (relatively) of people.
I don't know that my current masking behavior will change all that much.

i get it, but it’s a sad commentary
i mean, who knew that so many macho, patriotic, gun-toting ‘muricans would throw such a hissy fit over something so innocuous?

Re: COVID-19 - On the Ground
I will say this. I'll probably wear mask in a public place at least 50% of the time, but I won't turn around if I realize I forgot my mask. I'll go without it.CrimsonNBlue wrote: ↑Thu May 13, 2021 2:36 pm Seems like an attempt to reward vaccinating. I hope it works even if for only a handful (relatively) of people.

I am just kind of realizing that I haven't worn one very much since being fully vaccinated.NewtonHawk11 wrote: ↑Thu May 13, 2021 2:41 pmI will say this. Costco is only place I can think of where I wear one 100% of the time. That's like twice a month.
Re: COVID-19 - On the Ground
I don't go many places still other than the grocery store, Target, Costco etc... and they all still require them to enter right now where I live. Vaccination hasn't changed my mask wearing at all.CrimsonNBlue wrote: ↑Thu May 13, 2021 2:51 pmI am just kind of realizing that I haven't worn one very much since being fully vaccinated.NewtonHawk11 wrote: ↑Thu May 13, 2021 2:41 pmI will say this. Re: COVID-19 - On the Ground
When our mask mandate ends, I'll probably bring one along for a while but only wear it in situations where I feel like I cannot stay far enough away from others or when a business I want to utilize requires it still.NewtonHawk11 wrote: ↑Thu May 13, 2021 2:41 pmI will say this. Re: COVID-19 - On the Ground
after all mask mandates expire, i would favor boycotting any businesses that still require a mask. that's assuming any businesses are stupid enough to require a mask after all mask mandates have expired.

I bet a lot of businesses would be in favor of your boycotting them.

Re: COVID-19 - On the Ground
Great news.
Two weeks from tomorrow, I won't be wearing a mask, i'll keep one in the car.
But also we know that unvaccinated will TODAY be going into all establishments without a mask and if confronted just saying that you don't need em now.

Re: COVID-19 - On the Ground
I wouldn't boycott a spot that required a mask at the moment ( and probably for a while ) but if they required a passport, like an ID, to enter, I'd just find another spot to go if convenient.
Re: COVID-19 - On the Ground
If a business still requires a mask after the mandate/s expire, then I wouldn't necessarily "boycott" the business but I might ask the owner/manager what is the reason. Regardless of their response,I might then ask if they are they willing to face the repercussions and possible/probable p.r. nightmare let alone financial losses that may ensue from it.
Hardly the same situation but reminds me a bit of this fucknut.

Re: COVID-19 - On the Ground
the stores i frequent that still require masks are as busy as ever, with everyone masked

Yep, and that is why I will still wear one in those establishments.
