Not sure if you ever shop at Lakeside Foods but if you do, go to the meat department and tell them Gutter wants to know if the guys who made the pornos about 40 years ago are still alive.
COVID-19 - On the Ground
Re: COVID-19 - On the Ground
Ha, I don't, it's too expensive for my taste, plus I get employee discount at Mariano's. And they have two dollar 16 ounce craft drafts.
Re: COVID-19 - On the Ground
Nice! I wish there was a Mariano's in/near Wilmette when I lived in Glencoe. Very few nearby options back in the old days. Lakeside had a store in Glencoe and then there was (still is?) a Jewel in Highland park as well as Sunset - which I know is still there. I seem to recall there being a Jewel in Wilmette too but that was much more of a hike for me.Mjl wrote: ↑Thu May 13, 2021 5:53 pmHa, I don't, it's too expensive for my taste, plus I get employee discount at Mariano's. On another Chicago area note. What a beautiful day weather wise!
Ok, back to Covid.......
Living a few blocks from Northwestern Hospital I find it very cool that 6 or so months ago there were literally a hundred cars (or more) in line at any given time to go through the drive up covid testing between Erie and Ontario streets.
These days, I see an average of about 3 cars at a time.
As horrible as these past 15 months have been in regards to the hospital being inundated with covid patients, I can't help but think it could have been even worse.

Dead and Company tour announced - Wrigley shows and then Hollywood Bowl on my birthday.
Lollapalooza looking like it's going to be a go.
All of a sudden my summer is looking a lot more enjoyable.
GOD BLESS Donald Trump!

Ohh take me!
I also saw Phish announced a buncha dates.
I’m generally not a fan of concerts in mega-venues, but also feel like I’d like to see those dudes at least once

Can’t believe Kate Brown actually took the CDC advice......

Re: COVID-19 - On the Ground
I week to a weekend of Phish concerts at Red Rocks back in the day. The only thing better than the shows was the evenings at the nearby Chief Hosa campground. It was a weekend I will never forget.
Re: COVID-19 - On the Ground
Were you at the infamous phish red rocks show that got them banned after all the wooks without tickets bum rushed the gate to get in?

Re: COVID-19 - On the Ground
That was in 96, the year after I saw them. The 95 concert series at Red Rocks was spectacular. I saw Phish, Pearl Jam and Allman Brothers with Rusted Root all within about 6 weeks.

Deadheads are fucking weirdos.
I play a lot of golf with an insurance broker neighbor of mine, and his financial services company wife. White collar to the core.

Re: COVID-19 - On the Ground
Which did you get? My second Moderna shot a few weeks ago was miserable. About 24 hours after the shot I just felt terrible and had a low grade fever. Following morning I was absolutely fine.
Re: COVID-19 - On the Ground
I don't want to see anyone get harmed. Only a severely sick person would want that. I have extended family that have taken the covid vaccines. I hope I'm wrong about the vaccines, but as it stands now, "I just don't know" is the honest answer.

Re: COVID-19 - On the Ground
The NY Yankees situation is playing out exactly how the science has predicted. Some vaccine recipients have tested positive but no serious symptoms. In fact most are asymptomatic.

Hate to break it to you lobs, but I lived.
And now can feel safe/good about socializing without the mask.
And col, it was Moderna.
I sweat it out through my clothes and sheets last night. Feel great.

i barely even noticed anything after #2, but as i said, felt like death warmed over after #1
Re: COVID-19 - On the Ground
Trad- maybe you had some coronavirus exposure before? My reaction was more after the second shot. No fever but felt really achy and cold. My wife had nausea in addition. Lasted about 36 hours; symptoms started about 15-18 h following the shot. Fortunately we got the shot on a Thursday evening. So the symptoms were from Friday afternoon to about Sunday morning.
